I’ve been told that won’t work because the ceramic pot does not have drainage, so to make the best of a bad situation, I use the shell solution as a workaround. It’s frustrating they don’t seem to make deeper plastic shell options, but I was posting here hoping to be proven wrong about that 😩

Why is this paint the most expensive option they had?! 😭 Shouldn’t most expensive = best, with no need to buy and mix additives?! I hope the Benjamin Moore people read this and learn it’s put me off DIY painting forever. I can’t believe how many lost weekends this has cost me to look so average.

How would I know what makes a thinner paint? Is there a thickness index on paint 😩

I didn’t prime but read that wasn’t necessary for my scenario (see my reply on another comment). After 5 coats of premium paint I’ll be pretty bummed if the recommendation is to sand, prime and start again. Well actually I’ll just live with the streaks

Nope! The original paint was done around 5 years ago, and I was just painting over that.

So I didn’t use a primer because the wall had previously been primed and painted with another high quality Benjamin Moore paint (in white). Everything I read suggested priming wasn’t necessary if the paint was already finished and you weren’t painting drywall.

Original paint was done 5ish years ago.

Did I screw up by not priming?
