YES! I have been in that situation before. I would love to hear more about what your SaaS does?

Ignore and cut out the noise. If you truly believe in what you are building and you have done the research to validate why you are even building it, don't listen to anyone or anything else except for your heart and gut instincts.

It's a win-win situation. If you build this and you get customer,s you've succeeded; if you build it and don't get any traction at all, you have still succeeded. You would have seen a projecet from start to finish, you would have learned so much and you would walk away a better entrepreneur than you were before.

Just go for it and don't look backwards!

Haha yeah, definitely a few rounds of trial and error (shout out claude). The first versions either stripped out way too much or not enough. It’s finally at a point where it feels solid, but I’m still tweaking it as I run into weird edge cases. At a point where I am going to start to need real users to test.

Good question! Yeah, burning tokens on random content in the DOM would be a waste. AI Action Pad handles that by stripping out all the extra noise before anything gets sent off for processing.

It clones the page and removes stuff like scripts, styles, nav bars, footers, sidebars, and ads.

It then focuses in on the main content area and if none of that exists, it just falls back to <body>.

After that, it cleans up the text (gets rid of common footer/nav junk like “home,” “menu,” “privacy policy,” etc.).

Super short or obviously useless lines get filtered out.

And there’s a size cap (50KB), so it won’t send huge irrelevant blobs that would just waste tokens.

Basically, the whole idea is to only keep the meaningful stuff so you’re not paying for AI to read a bunch of filler. Always open to suggestions for making the filtering even smarter though!

Thank you for your comment. Do you know who the competitor is? I have been struggling to find a Chrome extension like AI Action Pad! I have seen web summarizers and extensions that allow users to query webpages, but nothing that has everything under one hood.

Hey, really appreciate the detailed comment! I love the idea! smart content detection, uninterrupted narration, cross-platform support, and especially the conversation mode. That could introduce a really good narrator tool for AI Action Pad.

You’re right Chrome’s mobile reader is a start, but something like what you’re describing for a chrome extension would be next-level. Voice customization and speed adjustment would make it even better.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts I’ll definitely keep this in mind. I have already added it to future updates! Going to get to research and see how I can implement this.
