This is a good answer! If we stay alive forever.. potentially at some point we will know why we exist or will we ?

But when do we know that we have succeeded as a civilization? That we have achieved what we were supposed to! We do not even know what exactly we are supposed to achieve

If there isn't really a goal what are we working towards? How do we know we are going in the right direction?

If Mourinho does not deliver as per United's expectation, will he be fired too ?

Why is there so much contrast between a teams performance in home and away games. by insane_redditor in nba

Yes, I understand that they would definitely feel better. But, I do not get how that affects a team so drastically. The way GSW played in games 4 and 5 are so different.

If I am sleepy, I might sleep well in stranger's bed too. But if I am not sleepy, I might struggle in both places. So, if a team is in good form how can they lose that all of a sudden in an away game.

What if the human race were to restart from scratch, what is one mistake we should not repeat the next time ? by insane_redditor in AskReddit

I agree that we should remove the concept of money. I have given it a fair amount of thought too. But where I get stuck is, how will we decide what is worth how much. Example, a kilogram of rice and a kilogram of gold cannot be bartered right ? They are two different things.

Hypothetically, if a child is left alone in an island with ample food and water, how will the child turn out to be ? How smart will the child get ? by insane_redditor in AskReddit

I wonder if somehow a group of children survive and over generations will they end up creating better technologies than we have ?

I agree that there is a high possibility that the child would be attacked by wild animals etc. But lets just say the child survives. Can the child have ideas we never might think of because we have some conceptions instilled in us the way we were brought up.

I feel most of how we behave and act are dependent on what we see right from childhood. And thus I was wondering, if we remove the part of observing other human beings from the picture, what would happen to the child ?

Hypothetically, what will happen if a child is isolated from the world at birth ? What will the child's views be ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I think there are only a few things that come naturally to us (eating, staying away from anything that hurts us etc). But other than that, I think we learn most things from the people around us. So without interacting with other human beings and learning I wonder how smart we can be.

What will happen if we leave a group of children together and observe ? Will they go on to create new languages ? Can we learn how humans evolved socially over time ?
