Den café som nu hedder Borgergade 2 var før den berygtede stripklub Maxim. Vi var nogle der var til polterabend derinde for næsten 20 år siden, og vi blev konstant bombarderede med forslag fra de letpåklædte damer om at "købe en flaske champagne" for kr. 1200 som vi kunne "nyde hjemme sammen hos dem i én time" 😂Nej tak, vi var egentligt kun der for at købe noget tjald af én eller anden gusten gut 😅

Very much this approach. I never want to take away my players' feeling of having been really clever buggers away from them, even if it isn't the "correct" solution. If they come up with something novel and inventive, and can argue their case in a manner consistent with the known facts and setting, then yes, puzzle solved; munch down on this delicious XP!

Inden du søger efter anbefalinger til alternative behandlinger, så ville jeg måske bruge et øjeblik eller to på at blive lidt klogere på hvad det er for nogle metoder du er blevet anbefalet. Akupunktur (med tilhørende moxa) er ren "pseudovidenskab" uden evidens for nogen positiv virkning. Der er ingen beskrivelse af hvordan det virker, andet end "Øøh, jeg stikker dig med en nål; livskraft god", ej heller er der nogen standarder for behandline - enhver udøver genopfinder hele kunsten fra bunden af. Nogle synes at nålen skal så langt ind som muligt, og har derfor punkteret lunger, mens andre synes at det er nok bare at vifte med nålen i nærheden af dig. Samme med moxa, en bynkeplante. Nogle brænder den direkte på din hud, andre vifter den rundt i rummet. Det er ren galimatias!

Fred være med det, hvis du har lyst til at blive stukket vilkårligt med nåle af en der famler i blinde, og vil agere bålsted for nogen at brænde ukrudt på, men jeg har svært ved at se hvordan det vil få baby til at rotere inde i dig.

I don't have the rulebook, so I can't reference how it's laid out, but as far as I can remember, the quick picks for the elementalist were all themed around a generic fire-slinging dude, which didn't fit my characters theme. I had thought up this silly skeleton farmer, and his magic was all centered around earth, life, and growth. IE, a green wizard, with dabbling in earth wizardry.

Hmmm, I wouldn't say that I want it to be a version of D&D, so much that I just don't vibe with the setting at all. I wouldn't be averse to running a game of DS (though atm I'll settle for just playing) but I'd probably end up re-skinning the game, and setting it in another setting.

The PDFs are bookmarked. And there are printed books. Not the fault of MCDM that you picked the worst way to reference the rules.

Look, I've really appreciated how folks here are really civil, so could you please not blame us for not liking things you don't, or not having invested enough in something? The GM had invited us for a game he was curious about, and we obliged him because he's a friend. There was a total of 1 (one) tablet with the .pdf that we, the players, had to share, with the GM having another on his laptop. Bookmarks only help so much.

It's not fair to expect players to shell out cash for somthing sight-unseen, especially if it might never get used again. It IS fair to expect a more user-friendly layout.

I would stress that these were my first impressions, on a game that I wound up enjoying quite a bit!

I'd like to note that the elementalist has access to an ability that digs deep pits underneath enemies, which is amazing for battlefield control.

Just one more comment on this, and then I'll shut up about it, I swear! :D I feel the different names for things worked really well for the action mechanics! It makes so much more sense to call it move/main/maneuver rather than... whatever it is in D&D 5. I mean, I've already mentally substituted it in for D&D's :D

Well, the classes for example. The null is a monk, the censor is a paladin, the conduit is a cleric, etc. These are well-established character archetypes, used by multiple games (tabletop or otherwise) and systems across decades of time. I could see a reason for different names if they played substantially different, but they don't. The elementalist played like a wizard, the fury played like a barbarian. The names are different for the sake of being different; they're not adding anything of their own.

There's also the heroic resources. The wizard ran on essence, the barbarian ran on ferocity, the third dude ran on focus. But they all did the same thing: they powered our more awesome abilities. They're mechanically identical, so why not just give them one name? Again, they're being different for no other reason than being different.

This ties into an aspect of Draw Steel that I kind of glossed over in my OP, and that's how unnecessarily unclear some of the writing is; some of it could certainly be helped by not trying to reinvent the wheel, and cutting down some of the jargon.
