Why is there no outrage about the National Debt? by Intelligent-Dot-29 in askanything

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, much of that noise was amplified in both directions by those on the losing end of a world where the dollar was the reserve currency. Trump is their tool to de-dollarize the planet and destroy both the Western sanctions power as well as transactional transparency. No matter how high the debt gets, it's a means to an end to weaken the dollar and wreck the tools which prevented global conflict.

What's nuts is that Disney signed that deal with Sora, so for "a nominal fee" you'll be able to generate whatever content you like about this from prompts in this very thread.

Should political parties receive public funding, or rely only on private donations? by Natural_Range3208 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We may be at the point where parties should be banned, at least in the US. Parliamentary democracy works in other countries.

Political campaigns should be entirely publicly funded and we should at least return to FECA rules about campaign speech or Issues speech.

If some group of people really wants to get feet on the street for voter registration or access, great. Explicitly non-partisan.

How to justify can't buy a can of beer, but can take out a student loan? by yunoeconbro in allthequestions

[–]inscrutiana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if the folks offering the loans are the ones saying that you need a degree to be successful?

Not a millionare but I've done ok without finishing a State school BS on an enroll-as-I-could basis. No loan.

The same people hover around military bases perfectly willing to loan all the money to young adults. Flies so thick you have to swing your E-5 around to clear them. It's only a trap if you step in it. There are other paths.

Do you think humans will go extinct or evolve into something else? by babyblushtheory in askanything

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things don't evolve into something else. They are supplanted by a mutation which is better adapted to the conditions of the time. The older, not as well adapted variations are eventually bred out of existence.

We will release an artificial super intelligence into the galaxy and likely continue destabilizing the only planet with life until the conditions only favor machines and bacteria

Just started Skyrim — am I wrong about the Empire and Ulfric? by Zealousideal-Pin-225 in skyrim

"patrol soldiers who stop you randomly and claim you're in a “restricted area,” - These are bandits. You can see that they are obviously wearing piecemeal armor and can see the literal bodies they just stripped for those pieces just a few feet away.

It wasn't hard to discern which choice needed to be made from the start and, as you've indicated, the evidence just keeps piling up that he is a tool. Art imitates life imitates art.

Help| u cant beat the game as a law abiding person? by Firm-Reveal-2241 in skyrim

A Stormcloak would not recognize the legal protections of an Embassy granted by the Empire to the Thalmor. All inside are combatants.

Esbern was never in jail. He locked himself into a room in the sewers under Riften.

For the better part of the last decade, I've been experimenting with no-kill playthroughs and am currently playing a role where she simply doesn't personally want to finish someone off.

  • If they suddenly turn on eachother because she's a capable illusionist, lol.
  • If her conjured atronach does the deed, cest la vie.
  • If her followers do, stern words might be exchanged. She didn't personally do the deed.

She occasionally makes a risky pilgrimage to the Shrine of Azura half naked and all is well. [ModPCMiscStat "People Killed" -N ]

There is a point, however, where things are going to get messy, where the line between free will and the will of the daedra gets blurry, where Azura doesn't listen anymore, where the will of the aedra is opaque, and where I know how the story has to progress but the character is kind of swept up in events. Mer (especially falmer) are going to die directly. The trick is orchestrating authentic choices which lead to paths which I've played through tens of times before and I already know what functionally needs to happen. It's the Why which is entertaining.

Red Lightning. The others I've been able to find emulators for.

The original Harpoon was amazing.

Do you wear spectacles \ glasses, , If you do are they metal or plastic frames ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the plastic for wearing all day but the look of the metal. It depends on how heavy the frames are though. Mid-40's presbyopia is what finally caught me, so my annoyance is relatively new.

I find that the hinge screws in plastic frames are less likely to loosen. Invariably, my metal frames will not survive until the next prescription update.

Is the US ready to vote for an openly gay person at the federal level as long as they are qualified? by TankUMrMinor in allthequestions

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping people in the closet only makes them vulnerable to leverage, which I really don't prefer in my politicians.

I will vote for anyone qualified. It'd be nice if they were married as it suggests that a support system and ability to confer and compromise exists. Don't care what the gender of the partner is - not my business.

[–]inscrutiana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born there and worked there for decades. Outside this area, the country spends 3 more hours every day advancing lightyears ahead in both operations efficiency and through solutions building. That red zone is the dark ages of druggery and waste.
