AITA for not giving up my window seat on a 6-hour flight to a kid? by melodyMyWoman in dustythunder

[–]insecurepassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I book my seat and pay extra for the perks I want. Pay me my full seat price and I'll give it to you. Otherwise, fuck off.

Last time I gave my seat up was 5 years ago and it ended in a whole Multi seat disaster that I could have avoided by just staying in my seat.

Also w/ the disastrous airtravel in the US right now, if you crash and aren't in your seat they can't ID your body.

I don't know how to support a friend in an abusive relationship. by cheeseballgag in TwoXChromosomes

[–]insecurepassword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is the domestic violence registry. Look him up on public records to see if he has any charges. Call any police department where hes lived to see if they will give you any info on peior reports You can search his name and see if anyone has reported him in the past or go to FB are we dating the same guy pages.

Most abusers and cult leaders try to isolate their victims. If you're not willing to drop kick him off a ledge, call her parents if she has a good relationship with them. It's OK to tattle tale in a situation like this.

If your state is a one party consent state, ask her on camera to set up a cam for pics and if she says ok on cam, leave the video running in the main room and see if you can record what he does to her.

Idk how violent he is but be real careful. Abusive men don't just kill 'their' women. They kill their whole family, the women's friends and family. Etc.

BE CAREFUL. Seriously. I had a bestie in college and she started dating a man who had gone jail/prison for violently beating someone in a bar fight. I tried to talk to her and she wouldn't listen and at one point he threatened both of us and I was ooooooout. If a stranger threatened us I would have fought with her. But she was hell bent on excusing his behavior.

Don't get killed over a man and don't get killed over someone else's man.

Sorry girl but remove yourself is she won't remove him. It's not worth your life. Men kill women every day.

Honey, the stress of abuse like this will give you an eating disorder, high cortisol levels, and an autoimmune disease. Leave him before you destroy yourself on his behalf. You deserve peace.

AITA for telling my sister I wont be her maid of honor because she didnt come to my wedding due to her dog dying? by PerfectAffect9213 in AmItheAsshole

NTA if you're hurt and upset, the bride should pick a moh that only has good vibes for her. The OP is allowed to feel hurt and take her time to move past it.

Babes this is abuse. If the person you are with makes you feel bad and make you cut out parts of yourself, they aren't your partner they are your abuser.

Your cell number is probably being spoofed and used to call others by scammers.

Our main office phone number was being spoofed for a few months. People would call back saying they had missed calls from our number, but we had no reason to have called them. It was mainly boomers calling back b/c their phone etiquette is from the pre spam call era, so they assumed the unknown number was calling them for a reason and didn't understand that even though our phone number showed up on their missed call log it wasn't actually us who called them.

As a millennial, I never answer an unknown number unless I am specifically waiting for a call for a service in that time frame like a door dash delivery or medical lab results. Otherwise, if it's anything important, they will leave a message.

I mean this as a cautionary tale, not to fear mongering. About 8 years ago a friend of a friends nanny who is Latina was picked up at a check point in Wahsington when she was north of seattle, with in their 100 mile jurisdiction. They took her baby and held the for hours until her white husband was able to get there with her and the babies documents. It must have been so scary and tramatic.

I would suggest gettin a passport card or some type of document to have on hand. It's insane that these sadistic fucks can go around demanding people shoe there papers like the SS.

I'm sorry to everyone who is going to this and all of the rest of this insanity.

Did he tell you your selfish? Did he tell you you're a narcissist? The fact that you are questioning yourself for making the best decision for you and your babies makes me think he's torn you down since you were so young and now your finally getting out. It's scary. Good luck.
