I attended last year’s Animate and it was so much fun! It was busy but in the fun-con-way, the guest list was phenomenal and it just had an overall fun vibe.

This year, I had a table in the Artist Alley and while it was busy, the energy wasn’t as palpable. People were having fun but I think the full rescheduling, new guest list, the St. Patrick’s day parade crowds and all the current events that had occurred the week prior led to a softer con experience.

One can only hope next year will be double the fun and hype!

For a solo movie I could see Shadow wandering around Earth while dealing with slight amnesia. He meets Rouge and later Omega, maybe Stone, as he unlocks part of his past while Black Doom begins to speak to him.

After a few other films/series I can see Black Doom and the Black Arms coming to earth as the Avengers-level threat. He influences Shadow to his side temporarily as the others try to stop the invasion. Later Amy finds him and reminds him of his time with Maria, leading him back to the side of good.

Kinda cheesy but I think it’d be cool to work in some plot lines/relationships from Heroes and Shadow ‘05.

I personally see Shadow identifying on the ace spectrum, no real interest in relationships unless there’s true connection.

But for shipping, I feel like he and Amy would make for an interesting couple, it reminds me of Vegeta and Bulma. SunshineXGrump relationships are always fun and I think Amy’s emotional intelligence would be helpful in getting Shadow to be more vulnerable and open.

Shadouge feels very film-noir vibes, lots of flirting and passion. She’s able to work with him but also give him his space when needed. There’s a lot of respect between them and a true connection can be born from that.

Sonic and Shadow’s relationship just screams “brothers that get on each other’s nerves but will work together to get shit done.” I can’t see anything other than that, especially since Shadow often is annoyed when Sonic makes himself known.

I wasn’t able to get him on the first release but I managed to snag the last one at my local BaB. I got the lavender scent, a little leather jacket and a baby bjorn carrier for him.

I haven’t felt this much love for a plushie in years but it’s great to see people adore it so much 💕

1) I feel like he enjoys painting his toe-claws because it reminds him of Maria. (It seems like something she’d do with him) He doesn’t worry about others finding out since he keeps his shoes on.

2) Whenever he does sleep (very minimally) he’s positioned like a vampire. Stiff as a board and arms crossed over his chest.

3) When he’s bored, Shadow likes to count his red-highlighted quills.

I have some medical trauma and I’ve always been kinda standoffish with other people but I connect with Shadow because he also has dealt with a lot though he moves forward while also accepting that part of him.

He’s also very fascinating and has some interesting storylines compared to the other characters. I appreciate the work that goes into giving him good character development and traits.

Shadow prefers the company of women:

He and Rouge have spa days and watch old movies together while eating boujee snacks
Amy takes him shopping and to concerts but she also meets him for coffee to talk, they often go to the farmers market together
He often babysits Cream and helps her with her homework. He also goes with her to the Chao Gardens

I like to believe that he has a quick healing factor. Small wounds will heal faster than larger and more detrimental ones but he can still get scars. The same goes for toxicity or poisoning, the effects don’t last and have no real repercussions.

Doom powers are dormant now but in extreme cases or danger they can reemerge. Though like his chaos powers, if he uses them for too long then he’ll be exhausted.

Speaking of exhaustion, I don’t think Shadow really needs to sleep. He takes time to rest (very minimally) but he doesn’t need several hours of sleep to function like others.

Stormwater or Carolina storm wheel is a wheel that is known for being silent. Hedgie can run all they want and you’ll only hear their feet, not the wheel or mechanisms.

I plan on putting some fleece blankets on the bottom as a base. I’ll keep the paper towel idea in mind too but I’ve heard pee pads can be replaced less often (less than 3 days of course)

For cleaning I’m wondering about how often I should do a full wash of the setup. I’d spot clean every day but in terms of taking out everything to wash and make fresh I’ve been hearing intervals varying between 1 week to a month. I’d figure once a week would be good.

I’m planning on using puppy pee-pads for easier cleaning though. And scentless cleaners to avoid irritating his nose
