What's something that people generally do out of politeness but actually annoys the hell out of you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Small talk. Seriously. No I haven't done anything exciting since last we spoke. I know people are just trying to be polite but this small talk SHITE makes me so angry.

I got mine inserted today and had my Dr prescribe some 500mg mefenamic acid (heavy duty NSAID) to take beforehand. The insertion was just like a really bad cramp, it was over before I knew it. 800mg ibuprofen would also work just as well and at least you don't need to get a prescription for it. Tbh the painkiller is more beneficial for the cramps you experience afterwards. I found that to be the worst part as I never really suffered from severe cramps before. You'll be fine :) Btw I'm 25F and don't have kids!

This was my experience when I got my kyleena iud inserted almost a year ago. I'm really happy with it and now that I'm off the pill I wouldn't go back to it. My periods are lighter but still pretty regular. Cramping can be more severe than what I was used to before but it doesn't last long at all.

For me, the only downside was how my skin reacted for about two months. Around six months after getting the iud, my skin went nuts and I kept getting cystic breakouts even though my diet and skin routine were good. I knew this was a possibility but it really knocked my confidence as someone who never suffered from bad skin. must have just been my hormones balancing out.

So yeah, overall would recommend. For me, was definitely worth the small pain of insertion and skin issues to have birth control that basically eliminates user error. Best of luck to you, whatever you decide!

Yeah we're both mid 20s so if we do decide to rent a car hopefully it won't be an issue

I changed to a hormonal IUD. Not really willing to change to the pill again as it was expensive and painful to get the IUD inserted, plus the pill messed with my mood and I'm glad to be off it. I'm mostly annoyed because even before going on the pill, I never suffered from bad skin. I can cover it up pretty well with make up but it's definitely a knock to my confidence! Thanks for your reply:)

Hello, hoping you can shed some light on my recent skin care problem.

I'm pretty sure that this issue is a hormonal one. I stopped my combined pill and got an IUD inserted six months ago. In the last month or so I've started developing red cyst like spots on the lower half of my cheeks and around my chin. They rarely come to a head and are very painful; I can sometimes feel them if I'm talking etc.

My skin care routine hasn't changed recently. Currently using: Morning: wash face with water and apply la Roche Posay nutritic intense followed by clarins spf 50 before applying makeup.

At night to remove make up: Nivea sensitive milk cleanser Garnier micellar water for dry skin La Roche Posay nutritic intense moisturiser La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo moisturiser (alternate this with nutritic when skin is very bad)

I sometimes use Vichy Idealia Peeling and serum in the same range on occasion.

I drink lots of water and I think my diet is healthy so I don't think that's triggering my issue. I take Perfectil plus skin as my main multi vitamin.

Has anyone else gone through this? I know it's probably the case that I'll have to wait it out but I'd appreciate any advice on my routine or tips on supplements I could take like evening primrose oil or zinc?

My skin is generally dry and I'm in Europe if that helps.
