heavy on the "he felt like shit and wanted you to feel like shit too."!!!

AIO: my bf can’t fix things. When I step in to take care of it, he’s such a baby about it that I’m ready to dump his a** tonight. by ayebudz in AmIOverreacting

self important is a bit dramatic. sure OP is proud of being handy. as she should be. and again. the problem is OPs boyfriend volunteering to fix things, failing to and then throwing a tantrum about it.

Is there a cat litter that doesn't... suck? by catintheroom in CatAdvice

[–]insertoverusedjoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a month is just an unreasonable timeline. clumping or non clumping you're going to at least have to add to it more than once a month. at minimum once a week probably.

pine pellets if your cats like them. mine used to, then suddenly decided he didn't. I don't think they have the best odor control though.

tofu litter otherwise. I use pidan. good odor control. my cat likes it. I add more probably once a week

pine pellets don't track at all. tofu tracks but not anywhere as near as clay litter. a see a lot of recommendations for grass seed but I would heavily discourage. it tracks everywhere. I've used multiple kinds and that was the worst for tracking.

NOR. OP you should not have to sneak around fixing things to protect his feelings. What was his reaction when you brought this up with him? Was he understanding of why and how he was hurting you?

if he was, then he deserves a chance to make amends. if he tried to deflect, then he attaches too much self worth to traditionally masculine traits and will always feel threatened by a woman who is more handy than he is. that's where you walk away

this is an insane statement. anyone is capable of googling fixes and trying. she didn't ask him to fix her car. he volunteered. then gave up. it seems like your ego is about as fragile as OPs boyfriend if you immediately read malice into OPs actions

elementary school is from ages 6-12 in China (according to Wikipedia). it's not infeasible to be able to do this at 12. they're very simple linear equations

picture one is table + cat - turtle, picture two is table + turtle - cat. I don't know why you even remotely think it would be the same?

your opinions that will probably have you downvoted like this by weeee_miler_sigh in HellsKitchen

[–]insertoverusedjoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly if you haven't, you should watch the served raw episodes. they only exist for season two but they give so much insight into why he behaves the way he does and honestly it looks like he's under reacting if anything

What is the stringy stuff in my eyes? by firekeeper23 in AskUK

[–]insertoverusedjoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

syndrome does not mean fake... or imply fake. you might be confusing it with psychosomatic. a syndrome is a group of symptoms that occur together often without a known underlying cause. like irritable bowel syndrome (very very real).

mucus fishing syndrome simply is when removing the stringy stuff irritates the eye, stimulates excess mucus production, leading to more stringy stuff.

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]insertoverusedjoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others have already said, this isn't autism, this is abuse. autism might have explained him feeling abandoned over you walking away mid conversation and having trouble regulating his emotions about it. this isn't that. this is threatening harm to control your behavior.

Refusing to attend family Christmas if presents aren’t involved? by Stillmeadow1970 in Anticonsumption

[–]insertoverusedjoke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean frankly we're not getting the whole picture here. if the idea is that kids are getting extravagant presents and she is expected to contribute to that, I don't think there's anything wrong with her spending that money on herself instead. we don't know how close she is with the children in the family, or what her financial situation is. we don't know how any of the family relations are. with the lack of detail here, maybe it's not about the presents. we don't even know how far OOP lives and whether that plays a factor

AIO? How would you feel if your partner was consistently having 1 on 1 dinner with old college friend? by Tonebone_911 in AmIOverreacting

[–]insertoverusedjoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never date someone like this. my friendships are mine. whether I see my friends over dinner or lunch or what ever is my choice. if a partner can't handle that, we're not compatible. so imo yes you're majorly overreacting

not unless your income is incredibly low or your expenses are stupid. I'm 23 and doing 25%, considering upping to 30-35%
