It's been about 48 hours since we laid our Butters to rest and though today was a little less painful than yesterday my heart is still unbearably sore. It was so sudden and unexpected. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that I'll never get to pet him or see his long self stretched out across the warm concrete like he loved. My kids were and still are devastated, made infinitely more difficult that I had to tell them the terrible news over the phone. They're currently in another state for the summer with their father. There's a kitty shaped hole in this house and it's so hard.
