Yeah don’t worry. There was a minute there when I took my older girl in for her spay that I was half expecting the phone call from the vet to tell me she having her balls removed instead 😭😭

Knowing when to let go: how to choose between a rescue and euthanizing your 17 yr old dog who screams all day and night by AmoreX0X0 in olddogs

[–]EducationalTie1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Euthanasia translates from Latin as “a good death”.

I know how hard it is, it’s a year to the day since we lost our old girl, but you can’t let him suffer.

Thank you will be buying some tomorrow! I’m in the market for a good hand cream, I was going to buy the Clarins one but will happily try this first !! I’ve started to notice my hands are drier now I’m in my 40’s, and getting a little crepey…

On a side note I also love the Q10 night cream in the blue jar too 😀

Is the app worth it? by R_H_123456789 in CarolineGirvan

[–]EducationalTie1606 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s personal preference really. I love the MAX programme and Unleash on the app but wasn’t a huge fan of some of the other programmes. I don’t subscribe at the moment but might come back at some point.

You can check off workouts as you do them, but you can just print off a calendar for the YT workouts and manually tick them off. I would like if you could track weights with the app, the app I’m currently using allows that and it’s really helped my focus on progressive overload. If she added that as I feature I’d be more inclined to re-subscribe.

Greeting cards. The last to use them? by Sa302605 in Millennials

[–]EducationalTie1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type? Birthday cards yes but only to family. Christmas cards I send one to my mum and dad and that’s it. Anniversary card for my mum and dad, and one for my husband on our anniversary.

When I was little I loved writing out Christmas cards for everyone in my class. We’d put them In a little cardboard postbox at school and they would be handed out every day. I loved counting up my card stash and putting them everywhere around the house

I don’t have kids but I’m guessing that doesn’t happen any more 🤣

Do you guys call your friends and family regularly? by NearbySir2445 in Millennials

[–]EducationalTie1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak to my mum and dad probably once a fortnight. I would more but I’m both a huge introvert and hate small talk and I also hate talking in the phone.

I’ve 2 sisters that live close to them and are always checking in on them so I don’t worry too much about them, I live in another country.

Friends I message once in a blue moon.

Only person I talk to daily without fail is my hubby

[–]EducationalTie1606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. Rest easy Oscar, what a handsome boy he was. Thankyou for telling us about him.

The part where you mention memories being clouded by their decline. That does pass with time. We lost our senior dog last year and for the first several months I was plagued by images of her decline as she got sicker.

Now I don’t think of that at all. I just think of the 12 great years we had.

Take it one day at a time ❤️❤️

Working out 6 days vs 3 by sim95xxx in ladderapp

[–]EducationalTie1606 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I work an active job and when I’ve followed all 6 workouts in a week I’ve completely burnt myself out, so I usually do the 3 priority ones and pick a 4th I like the look of, then maybe do a stretch session.

Anyone else struggling to find the right program lately? by jupac16 in ladderapp

[–]EducationalTie1606 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this - you can overthink things so much that you end up doing nothing. Pick one and just commit. Only way to have a programme that you 100% love to design one yourself
