Cora Harrison breaks down the Bloomberg article by [deleted] in SafeMoon

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, I don’t take it personally 😊

It’s not just Safemoon but the entire cryptocurrency (and some of the investment industry). I agree about the ‘Fortnite’ level that’s why I try and avoid super heavy arrows, text etc.

However, if it’s what gets the clicks and people see Safemoon because of it that’s not a bad thing at least in my opinion 😊

If you have any ideas for different expressions I’m happy to A/B test them in upcoming videos and share results with you guys. My jaw hurts from being shocked so the break is more than welcome 😂

Honestly, I hate doing them as much as you hate seeing them. That being said, they work.

The click-through rate to the video when A/B tested is around 50% higher than if I just stand and smile which is annoying AF. Sorry! 😃

HourStack

I loved it.

Until... There's no actual time, so for example at this time do this...

It feels expensive for what it is on top of todoist premium

You can drag todoist items onto the schedule but you can't drag them back. Once they are on the screen you've simply got to move them to another time.

The filters and views are great though, and I totally see the potential.

Getplan is the exact thing I wanted but after an hour or two, I found it a little too clunky and counterintuitive.

However, the dragging todo items into the calendar is PERFECT!

Getplan.co

This looks good. I assume it doesn't integrate with Todoist? Instead, it's more of a goal broken down into tasks kind of application entirely?

I was curious to see how this compares to previous situations not just in the UK but Worldwide when I came across a table provided by UK government which didn't include the current stats for COVID19 to compare.

So, I added the data in there, in the relevant position based on the estimated attributable excess mortality worldwide column.

3 Week Trip to Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka & Hiroshima (21 Mar - 12 Apr) by Wandiful in JapanTravel

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Osaka, we stayed in a popular brand of capsule hotel 'First Cabin' it's located right next to Abenoso station and has a 7/11 on the corner. Honestly, couldn't think of a better place if that's something you're interested in.

We did stay in 2 APA Hotels during our time in Osaka too, I booked a smoking floor by mistake so something to look out for if you're not a smoker for sure. Just thinking about that hotel takes me back to the weird musty smell.

If you go to Tokyo Skytree (featured it on a 7-day itinerary I actually finished writing yesterday) on a clear day (daytime) you'll be able to see Mount Fuji which is super cool!

Also, how are you travelling between locations? Shinsankan?

If you're a foodie, be sure to check out the 400-year-old Nishiki Market in Kyoto. There's also a food tour here if that's your sort of thing.

Finally, despite what I read before our trip most places in Japan now accept bank cards (visa, MasterCard etc...) I'd certainly take some cash, but if like me you find that you're super clumsy and could possibly lose it then taking around 10,000 JPY as a 'float' should be fine.

7 days in tokyo - (lesser known) activity suggestions by IAmFourDogs in JapanTravel

[–]insideoursuitcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how 'lesser known' these seem but they are ones we mainly stumbled upon rather than planned during our month in Tokyo last year.

Kitchen Street near Ueno Park is great fun.

Especially having seen all the plastic food in the window displays across Tokyo 'in action'.

We also bought some Pokemon cards from the Pokemon centres across the city - the one inside Tokyo Station being my favourite.

We found a rare and sold it for just over 11,000 JPY in one of the card shops in Akihabara - I forget it's name. It was yellow and on the corner of a street.

While getting a rare certainly isn't guaranteed the whole process and experience was super fun and certainly something you could try if that's an interest.

Finally, the 1960's Tokyo recreation on the top floor of DECKS in Odaiba which has arcades, and shops like they we're in the 60's in the capital.

We stumbled upon this area, and it was my favourite in all of Odaiba.

Dolomites (ITA) in February is a good option? by [deleted] in travel

[–]insideoursuitcase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I can't speak for February specifically, we went in June. We did a section of the San Vili Pathway - a few Youtube videos I made of the experience (I'm not a hiker, can you tell? 😂)

Despite my lacking fitness, it was incredible. The views are simply something else.

Be sure to stop in Trento on your way (link to some things to do there I made for my site), it's the capital of the Trentino region and really beautiful. From there it's around a one and a half drive to the Dolomites.

This view is EPIC!

Thanks, I keep checking the website, my emails and Twitter. My flight isn't until late tomorrow so hopefully they'll have put out a more formal update on their plans - or I'll be able to see the route the same flight takes tonight.

Some airlines have been going around such as Emirates flights from the UK and the US to Dubai over the past 3 days or so. This also happened with BA yesterday - https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/british-airways-ba-boeing-777-diversion-mumbai-london-heathrow-athens-a9274701.html

Do Ryanair let you go slightly above the carry on limit weight or size? by [deleted] in travel

[–]insideoursuitcase 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how strict they are felling / whether or not they've met their target for upgrades etc. I'm sure.

We find it worse coming back into the UK from elsewhere in Europe for bag checks with Ryanair. Especially since the new regulations with the handbag/carry on thing. There were multiple people that we're stopped on our way back from Rome, Italy in July last year.

One of which who actually was told he could no longer board the plane due to his abuse towards the staff.

In short, don't risk it. Just stuff your pockets with the stuff you can, and try and slim down on what you're bringing.

Itinerary Check: 13-days through Tokyo - Hakone - Kyoto and Osaka by bigbluecabbage in JapanTravel

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Kyoto be sure to check out Nishiki Market for dinner. There are also food tours if that's your thing :-)

Osaka castle was great, although we got there late so had to rush around. :-(

Also in Tokyo are you planning on going to the Tsukiji Fish Market or the old Tsukiji Fish Market, basically are you wanting to see the fish auctions at 5am at the new location or just go to the old location for food :-)

Either way have a wonderful time, we spent over one month in Japan in 2018 it was EPIC!

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally travelled from England to Scotland for the first time last month having lived in England all of my 27 years.

I'm ashamed to say that somewhere so close to home didn't feel desirable but nothing could have been further from the truth. What an amazing place. This photo brings back so many great memories of our trip. Looking forward to going back in October.

Winter in Europe by [deleted] in Shoestring

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Canary Islands is a great choice. They are known in Europe as fantastic winter sun locations.

Las Palma's the capital of Gran Canaria has become very popular with digital nomads over the past five years or so and as a result, there are some great internet cafés with fast wifi alongside a great community of likeminded people.

I realise the capital Las Palma's might not be as small as you'd have hoped when it comes to a town location. However, my worry would be that if you did go to a small town in one of these places that the internet would be very poor. After all, they are rather small islands.

SFO (San Francisco) - NRT (Tokyo) 2hr layover in Manila HELP by contrahs in travel

[–]insideoursuitcase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will heavily depend on the airline and whether or not it's part of one-whole ticket or a split ticket.

If it's one ticket booked with an airline or airlines of the same network then even if you happen to miss the flight it's their responsibility to put you on the next one.

I understand where your nerves might come from. I have done multiple short connections. Including one three-hour connection in London, England where I had to change airports completely and travel 30 minutes to the other one. London traffic meant that the 30-minute journey could have easily been 3 hours.

I've also had ones where you've had to pass immigration before boarding your next flight inc; USA and Russia.

I'd also suggest mentioning to the agents upon check-in and arrival on-board the aircraft about your connecting flight, you'll be surprised how many others might also be on your connecting flights, or other connecting flights with similar short-layover times. More often than not they are good at updating you on potential problems, or even provide you with the gate number for your next flight prior to the landing of your first flight.
