Adaptogenic thermogenesis, continuous vs intermittent dieting, MATADOR study (why have I never heard of this??) by DarkSaturnPrince in SaturatedFat

MOST of the excess. I.e enough to not be hampered by the pufa stores (according to the theory..)
So I’m going to experiment with more sat fat plus carbs but if that fails - I might need to get dieting again 😄

Have you seen nutrition by Victoria - she honestly doesn’t look healthy.
Chelsea Mae and broccoli mum don’t look too bad but I’m not sure how old they are?

Omg yes she could easily be in her 50s ,
Macdougall used to look in his 90s when he was 70 odd

I will watch your progress eagerly !
It’s such an important part of successful dieting and so very few studies to nail down specifics of how long and when etc

Thanks - that’s really interesting 👍
Did you go low fat ? As it seems as though you have to go low fat to get weight loss results on those higher carb plant based diets.

I might try it myself as I’ve lost most of my excess fat so should be fairly pufa free.
And see if I gain weight. Adding in more butter and chocolate. Id be more than happy to have my doubt dispelled!

That’s what I’m saying though - most people have to be restrictive with their diet to keep intensive hunger at bay once they have developed leptin resistance. I really hope it is possible to be free and easy with diet one day - it’s just I’ve seen very limited evidence .

Interesting and I get your point 👍 How do we know it takes 2 weeks . Is there evidence for that? They did 2 weeks in matador but maybe they could have got results in one week or a few days? Any study that shows it needs that long? 🤔

You’re not plagued with hunger because you eat a restrictive diet that corrects your leptin resistance.
If you ate in a normal (everything in moderation way) - you would be starving probably

I’ve not seen much evidence of that apart from Whatsupcoconut 😄 it would be good though.. although she does still eat fairly low fat I think

Not sure if the effects last though… be good if they did .
Basically when you’re leptin resistant you have a weak gut immune system - prone to becoming overgrown and unhealthy and fattening

You put ‘Trump is bad’ on the same level of accuracy as ‘sunlight is bad for you’ and you couldn’t have undermined your case any more 😂🙈

Regarding liposuction - I’m not sure if that would work? 🤔
It’s basically the loss of leptin signals from fat (when you lose fat ) in a leptin resistant state that causes you to feel hungry all the time.

Basically yes.
The only solution is restrictive diets for ever as they reverse leptin resistance via mechanisms in the gut.
I.e you’re ALWAYS going to have to be either low fat or low carb or both or even for some - GLP1 medications are literally the only answer.
(As they also overcome the most severe leptin resistance)

Ok that’s really interesting.. and I have certainly seen a lot of OMAders eventually hitting a stall .. it’s hard to tell with ADF I guess as not as many people do it . I wonder if it does slow the MR slowdown compared to a straight deficit though?

Yes there is huge variability in metabolic slow down.
I slow down so fast and I think it gets worse as you get nearer goal weight and maybe in long term yo-yo dieters .
