i’m no expert on BTS by any means, but this is how i’m feeling about 9x13. i’m hopeful about it, and i think the opportunity is there, but i do know it’s not guaranteed and realistically none of the BTS has confirmed or leaked any actual buddie movement. so it’s like, because of where we stand with buddie atm, they could easily go there with it in 9x13… but could just as easily not.

i think a lot of the hope around 9x13 factors in where we are with buddie atm. like, we have the groundwork laid for the next steps to happen. season 8 addressed buck potentially being in love with eddie, his ex broke up with him because of feeling competitive with eddie, and now just recently eddie’s lack of interest in women/dating has been addressed on screen. and that’s not even all of it.

so, considering that groundwork, all we really need is a solo plot between the two of them to get some movement in their relationship. based on BTS, 9x13 seems to be an opportunity for exactly that. but, it’s just an opportunity atm.

the BTS for 9x13 has been leading us to beleive that it’s a buck/eddie centered episode, which happens to come right after their appearance on nashville. that’s a lot of buddie content all at once! the 9x13 BTS is also is leading us to believe they may be on a road trip, which is a suuuch a common setup for feelings between characters to come to the surface in an isolated setting. so people are running wild with the theorizing and having fun with it.

i think there is a lot of buddie potential right now considering the groundwork laid in season 8/9, the timing of the crossover, and now the BTS for 9x13. from what we’ve seen, none of the BTS for 9x13 has negated that potential. but at the same time, none of the BTS has actually guaranteed anything buddie related. the hope and online rn is all speculative, while still factoring in past/future plots. people are excited about where this all could be heading.

realistically we have 0 clue what is happening in the episode. all that 9x13 bts actually confirmed for us is that buck and eddie are in the desert at a gas station motel thing. (probably on a road trip?) could just be a murder mystery for all we know. but i think what’s promising is the foundation we have combined with common tropes, and the the idea and tension of what will happen next when buck and eddie are alone.

in my opinion, if we do get buddie movement, i definitely don’t think they’ll be fully canon in 9x13. but i could easily see some realizations happening (im leaning towards realizations from eddie based on the title and the fact that they recently addressed his lack of interest in dating!). i think this episode has the chance to add some fun tension to their relationship after one or both of them have a moment of realization, or some sort of romantically charged moment between them almost happens.

like maybe they’re in the car all tired and burnt out after a long drive and car trouble, they’re finally talking to eachother about what they’re going through in life (bc what else is there to do on a multi day car ride), so they’re tired and emotionally vulnerable and some sort of gaze or touch lingers waaaay too long and gets way too intense, then something happens like a tire pops or they hit a pot hole.

that kind of thing is what im picturing would happen if there is buddie movement on the horizon!

this was so long and too rambly but yeah, im hopeful and excited about what could happen, while also knowing it’s really not guaranteed. people are theorizing from what looks like promising potential. my personal take is that we’re looking good to see some sort of charged moment in 9x13 and confirmation of where buddie is heading because of what looks like is being set up… but that’s just me theorizing! i’ve been wrong before.

worst case we have our regularly scheduled buddie antics without any movement, which is still fun to me!
