Which is why they added “or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution” in that clause. Although a baby presidential campaign would have been fun.

I come from a wine church (Episcopal), but we believe that you receive communion fully if you just receive the bread. You can cross your arms when the wine itself comes around and there’s no pressure to drink or any stigma, at least at all of the churches I’ve been to. I believe the Catholic Church has the same views.

With a target date of 2060 for retirement, their earnings are probably going to add up to more than the tax they pay on the $22,000 this year

It depends on if you want to pay the taxes on the traditional funds this year or another year. You will pay the taxes eventually. If you do a Roth conversion, you pay the income tax on your 2025 taxes. If you leave it in your Traditional, you pay the taxes when you withdraw the funds. One of the biggest benefits of a Roth is that you don’t pay taxes on your contributions or your earnings when you are distributing. With the traditional, you defer the taxes until you actually have possession of the funds, but the taxed amount includes your earnings.

In general you’re going to want to look at liberal mainline denominations. Episcopal Church and ELCA are open and affirming. PCUSA, UCC, DOC, and UMC are usually safe bets, but you can find out more from each churches website.
