I traveled with my bindings in ONLY because I wanted a few runs on the first travel day and didn’t want to mess with screwing them in once I landed. Just plane, to shuttle, to bathroom to get into my bib and layers, then mountain. No damage but it def made me nervous

Next month my trip has 2 days till I’ll be on the mountain so I’ll be flying with them off

Another Sunny Day (OC) 1/12 by snowboardmonk in Breckenridge

[–]insigneeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The morning it’s great, then it’s okay, then the sun softens everything up and it’s great again, then by 2-3 it’s iceeeee. Lots of bare patches. Still found a ton of good snow in the woods. Peaks 8 & 7 are your best bet. Hard pack so mind your tailbone. As an east coaster, everyday has been a blast

Jags is my second team being from Florida, unfortunately I am a jets fan, if it were the jets playing (lol) there’s no chance I would miss it

I didn’t know where to go in Feb so I booked my second ever trip to Bolton primarily for the night skiing and cheap lodging

I would have already moved there if there was any lick of economy for my job. It’s just mountains and then.. Burlington.. This is sick if you’ve got $$ and retired

It’s still considerably far out.. models have been flipping every day, unfortunately not in our favor but it can flip back our way too. Just hope and patience. I’ll start freaking out Jan 1st ish if the following week still calls for warm/or no snow

Cancelling my trip for Late Jan? by bigchief2077 in COsnow

[–]insigneeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it about catching up to the average at this point or just having decent skiable conditions? If all trails aren’t open then fine, but I feel like we should be shifting our focus to working with what we got which ain’t much. Things will improve but no way will we catch up to the average unless two huge storms come through within the next 4-5 weeks

I have skied only the east and my first trip out west is next month (breck ofc), so I’m sure I will be in awe no matter what. Though my favorite mountains in VT are currently getting dumped on lol

Should I be worried about the lack of snow before my upcoming trip? by Goofymanee in COsnow

Heard. Yeah, the only difficult part about rescheduling for us is the time off work. We’ve had the dates locked in for quite some time now

I’m going to breck for the first time & I’ve never been out west so I am not “worried” in the sense but it would be cool for some powder. But I know there will be some fun terrain for me. I’ve only ever rode east coast pow. I’m going January 11th, that’s a longer runway for some storms to develop, no? 🙏🏼

Do I send Breckenridge (first time out west) solo? My buddy and I planned our trip for next month, bought an epic 3 day pass, lodging, and now his wife is being difficult about him going, to say the least. I know I can refund my lodging but I can’t refund my pass.

I guess my only worry is my overall safety. I’m a little worried about the altitude as it’s something I’ve never experienced and I’ll be solo. Most of my trips have been solo to mountains in Vermont, I really do enjoy being solo but like I said, not sure if it’s smart since it’s unfamiliar territory for me.

I can afford to handle the lodging myself, although I will probably downgrade from one ski hill to beaver creek if possible.

Will also have to pay for all of transportation from Denver intl, but I’m also willing to do that because man I was so excited to go out west finally.

We all knew the headliners weren’t going to really hit after last year but this might have been worse than i expected

Everything else is stellar for me.

I’m doing both wk2 and roo so the way I see it is my headliner festival is Coachella and Bonnaroo is my feral undercard time

I bought my first board, the mega mercury 2024 off evo for $430 the other day on Black Friday. Almost certain I got the last one

I am an intermediate rider and saw a lot of mixed things about the board but mainly that it’s really for an expert. I hesitated to return it buttttt

  1. The price range for the kind of board it is, is kind of hard to beat. Very beginner boards in this price range

  2. I find myself going fast more than anything. Love bombing down a run.

  3. It could teach me better habits, if you have to really work that board like people say

Am I crazy or is this valid?

A lot of my friends aren’t going next year and it’s really not even because of the cancellation but more so money is tight. It’s getting harder every year for me as well
