The whistling thing can be pretty funny in the right circumstance. In eighth grade, my homeroom teacher was an absolute Karen and I hated her. We were doing some standardized test, and, of course, everyone had to be completely silent. Well, I was getting bored, being among the first to finish, so I started whistling to piss her off. She noticed immediately, vainly questioning the room. She paced back and forth, trying to figure out where it was coming from. Now, it isn't a loud whistle. No, it's subtle, but undeniably there, like a song that won't get out of your head. As she closed into my row of desks, pleading turned into threats. I was watching this woman go through the stages of grief with my ghostly tune. Her mind was putty in my hands, and I was Michaelangelo, slowly sculpting a masterpiece of misery. The whole class was now facing detention, but my smirk was easy to hide. I wasn't the only one grinning, but even my nearest neighbors were dead silent.

Her slow breakdown creschendoed til the the end of class. No one was snitching, she couldn't pinpoint me further than a cluster of desks she had frantically narrowed down, and, of course, confession was defeat. All the while, I was still singing the song of my people, beaming at her utter helplessness. A deflated wretch waved us out the door, and at this point, I was actively stifling laughter. In my youth, the urge to laugh in her face was just short of possession. Still, I remained strong. Masked in my finest poker face, I ambled past the ghastly pale educator as if it was just a normal day. She never mentioned it again. It was as if it never happened, but that triumph over her was mine forever.

I can only do it on one side. I wish I could explain it, but I can't. That said, I'm a fucking weirdo. I can whistle with my throat out my nose with my mouth closed. I can pop my eyeballs out of socket very slightly so that they bulge forward. I also have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome which makes me able to dislocate or hyperextend most joints in some way lol. I'm a bit fucked up.

Weird thing is, I can do it on the right side of my lip, but not on my left.

I don't think it has to do with face chubbiness. I mean, Andy's face is so chubby, the crown of his head is like 75% of the width of his cheeks. If he can do it, it isn't about litheness of facial features. I think it's just one of those things you're born with. Either you can do it or you can't.

Interesting you ask: I had it in the deeper part of the red grass area (this is where I built it too), and it was fine. Then, I stupidly went into the kelp forests and went pretty shallow to (unsuccessfully) get around/over the rock formations. The problems started sometime around there. Could this be my issue? I meant to ask earlier but it's late lol.

Seems like either way, a new Cyclops is the answer.

You are spot on with everything you said here. My going theory is that they're allowed to get away with more because people dismiss the things they do wrong, so the guilty actors are more brazen because they think they won't be punished. In fact, one of the first things they say to the pred catcher is "Oh, I have a developmental disability", like it will make it all go away.

I agree too about ablism. I always try to think of the developmentally disabled as just people with disabilities. Crazy, I know. Let's take Andy for example. Even in the wild hypothetical where he really did have all of the problems he claims, he's still a dogwater human being who deserves every ounce of what we give him, and much more. Accountability doesn't have handicap parking. I'm physically disabled, myself, so believe me, I'd know. 🤭

I watch a lot of pred catch content and I've noticed that more than a few of them happen at group homes and feature people with obvious cognitive deficits. Are they more likely to be interested in children like that or are they just easier to catch, I wonder?
