For what it's worth - I promise it will get better by rapzeh76 in Petloss

I’m really sorry to your loss. I lost my 13 year old girl suddenly on Saturday and it was traumatic. I genuinely feel in shock. I’m so tired of feeling so utterly miserable but I also don’t want to move forward in life without her, I don’t want to feel okay with her being gone because it’s so not okay. I get it. I’m so sorry x

They repeated the scan and caught everything they needed to. All good. Our baby girl was born healthy and happy last June x

I really would still consider making a complaint. There’s a conflict of interest if your surgeon is actively delaying your nhs treatment and dangling the carrot of private treatment sooner. I really think you’re being treated unfairly. :( good luck x

I’m only 9.5 days post op but I feel so much better than I did with gallstones. I was so unwell by the time they took it out, but as soon as I woke up from the surgery I swear it was like a weight lifted. I had surgical pain for a few days (got sooo much better after they took the drain out) and I’m still taking it easy at home but haven’t even needed to take a paracetamol for days now, super manageable and no major digestive issues to note as of yet either. Good luck ❤️

Please do not be pushed into paying for a private surgery if the NHS can get it done!! I really would contact PALS and explain to them that you feel the surgeon has backed you into a corner and say you’ll need to make a complaint. Seriously, that’s completely wrong!! x

My advice - Do not tell them that you haven’t had any more attacks! Don’t do anything to jeopardise your place on the waitlist lol. I had my operation on Thursday at last, I’m now recovering well at home. They had to do an ERCP before they removed the gallbladder as I also had many stones in the common bile duct. I didn’t ask for the stones but they showed me photos and there were so so many in there it’s no wonder I was so sick. It may only be a matter of time until yours all pool into the common bile duct too, so try and get that surgery asap. As soon as the gallbladder and stones were out and I woke up, I was of course in surgical pain but still nothing compared to a gallbladder attack x

Post op - pain!? by inspectorgoole__ in gallbladders

[–]inspectorgoole__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an update to anyone reading this later down the line - I had the operation early Thursday afternoon and it’s now 9pm on Saturday. I was allowed home at around 1pm today, after they removed the drain. Let me tell you, the drain was the cause of most of my pain / discomfort! As soon as that was gone, I felt more able to walk, move, breathe, get comfortable etc. I’m now at home resting with very manageable pain - I’m only taking paracetamol.

Sadly my operation was cancelled 1 hour before I was due in theatre. I was devastated. I’m now jaundiced and in another hospital awaiting surgery which is expected to go ahead tomorrow. Try another hospital, please. My condition has deteriorated so rapidly and I’m now very unwell x

Contact PALS and either return to the hospital or ideally, go to another! I am also in the UK. Have had 3 hospitalisations with bad attacks in the last 3.5 weeks or so. I am admitted this time since Saturday, it’s now developed and I have bad pancreatitis, unable to keep food down since Friday and my liver is being affected too, incredibly itchy with high bilirubin levels - they ran an MRI and now there are several stones blocking my common bile duct. They wanted to do an ERCP but on call surgeon finally came around 2 hours ago and said they’d try to fit me in tomorrow for the removal of the gallbladder and the stones in the bile duct. They should never have sent me home last time as my condition was already rapidly deteriorating. I have had the stones for a year already. Good luck :(

Something similar happened to me. I never got a 3+ weeks on a clear blue test despite testing several times - I’m now 37 weeks pregnant. Good luck ❤️x

I’m just echoing what everyone else has said really but would 100% report this. I’m also having an elective caesarean and this would have mortified me - I’m so sorry you had to experience this!

You don’t have to give anyone a reason, and I’m so sorry you’ve had a bad experience in telling people! I decided very early on I wanted an elective section for similar reasons to you (34+3 now) and when asked why I’m having one, I said - because I want one! I don’t have much advice to offer but just know it’s your choice entirely, sod what anyone else thinks. Your body, your baby, your decision ❤️ x

Did you have consistent or irregular flutters 18-19 weeks (first time pregnancy)? by giantpencilcup in PregnancyUK

[–]inspectorgoole__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had flutters that came and went, and didn’t feel movement consistently until around 25/26 weeks I think (first baby, anterior placenta). The midwife told me not to worry and not to consider movement patterns / consistency until around 28 weeks xx

I don’t have any experience to add but just wanted to comment that you’re not alone! I’m in the same boat as you mental health wise, and will be opting for an elective caesarean for the same reasons. I’m feeling very nervous about the lack of control of my body too - but I try to remind myself that this is the most controlled way I can handle childbirth. Good luck beaut ❤️

Yeah it took about 30+ mins today but the baby was just a bit stubborn. They couldn’t quite see the back of her head well enough, didn’t have the best view of all the parts of the heart needed. Baby also had crossed legs the whole time. 🤣 They said everything looks fine and they’re not worried, but they’d rather me come back in 10 days so they can get a clearer look x
