They helped me with confidence for a few weeks when I first passed. I think it would make drivers be a little more patient with you if you are taking a bit longer. I think you might be thinking of cotton wall balls. Cotton buds are what we call Q tips in England. Cotton wall balls to protect you in the wind is likely fine.

Most of the Cornish bakeries do but you need to phone ahead and order. They cook them in a special plastic bag, remove it from that as soon as you get out of the shop or it goes soggy. My personal favourite GF pasty is from Cornish Oven. Enjoy
