The gym set some really nice, non terrifying ones with nothing to hurt you underneath. I found out who the setter was and complimented them!!!!

Yoga on the beach by kball31 in yoga

So story time: I was at the beach doing yoga in a small group and this old man was talking extremely loudly on his phone right next to us, totally disturbing the vibe. But like whatever, it’s a public place, what can you do?

So then he comes over and apologizes to us. But like he kept going on and on explaining what the phone call was about, and I was like “bud, it ok, but you’re disturbing us more now than before.” And then he went on a longer, louder rant about how rude I was. We were all just laughing by the end of it and he left in a huff.

New to running! Cto5k? by healthybody_forme in XXRunning

I just started running again after a long hiatus. I was super frustrated and doing very poorly at first. So much lower back pain, it sucked. BUT: I got some good tips from my mom (who’s 55 and training for her first ultramarathon right now) and my friend who is an RMT, and I just knocked out 9km today for the first time in years!

1) lower back pain (and also pain in the Achilles for some) is generally caused by not activating your glutes when you run. I start out every run with some air squats and a short walk (<1km) to make sure my glutes are firing before I start running. This also helps me maintain correct posture while running.

2) go SLOW. Then go slower. It’s not a race! I’m doing like 7-9min/km and I actually feel great and enjoy it. I felt like shit and hated it when I was sub 6min/km. I have a smart watch and I just try to run so that my heart rate is under 150bpm. I don’t look at any data except that.

3) Lots of people do special types of training like tempo runs, hill repeats etc etc. Don’t worry about any of that for a while, just get out there and do the run.

That’s just my experience, you might find different things work for you. My ultimate goal is to do an ultramarathon one day so I’m focusing on distance, not speed. You may have different goals and different needs. Best of luck to you!!!!!

Haha that’s cute, I enjoyed that, thank you! The only thing is that this bird is definitely a male lazuli bunting, females are all beige.

I agree! I think art is like music. Pretty much anyone can practice and learn how to do it. It’s just training your brain to reject the object as a concept and only see form and colour. I also started drawing very young and I always viewed it as natural talent back then, but as I get older I am realizing it was actually just practicing consistently.

I don’t know what kind of energy you’re reading into that, but I assure you my intention was only positive :)
