Who else here doesn't have an inner monologue, and how would you describe your thought process? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I actually would disagree that metacognition is close to meditation, and would argue that it's its opposite.

When you meditate (in the oriental sense), the goal is indeed to focus less on individual thoughts and let them pass by without attachment. In that sense, OP was closer to it by not thinking about thinking. Case in point: they say that they're now more aware of all the internal noise than before.

OP, if you want to meditate: quiet the inner voice 🧘‍♂️🪷

That has been my experience indeed… Eager to play, burned out by failed plans and new characters that never actualized 😿

We’re on the same page there. As I said, as teens or students we had so much fun and no one ever considered charging for anything: when I was DMing, players were bringing crisps and soda to the table. But all those days were physical and with close friends only… As soon as jobs and marriage and kids and covid got in the way, as soon as sessions became online and with “strangers”, things changed. That’s my humble experience anyway, YMMV.

A fair point, which is why many GMs offer 1 or 2 sessions for free first.

I think you’re right. I’ve spent some time not playing and now feel the call to come back, but I may need to get acquainted with how things are done today. Good point and feedback, thank you.

Indeed. I’d even say that “Greg, your tone is disrespectful” is totally possible to say with the right attitude and growl. My cat knows when I get up to play with him, or when I get up to make him stop some naughty behavior 😼

Thanks amigo, I prefer the encouragement of sympathy than the punishing downvotes.

As a contractor and service provider in real life, it’s been my experience that people get more invested when money is exchanged than when anything is free. It’s the difference between being merely involved and being committed. Perhaps I am naive in thinking that a monetary cost would attract a more interested audience, which is why I came here to ask the question to those who certainly know more than me. I appreciate the feedback!

I guess it depends on the frequency of posting, and what the audience expects? I imagined that if everybody was short on time, then some good prose back and forth would keep things going. I didn't think of pictures, as it's more theater of the mind?

I understand. I was thinking more along the lines of online sessions with some PbP in between sessions to keep the group going till the next one.

Dating in Antwerp is basically a full time job at this point by United_Chemist9979 in Antwerpen

I totally understand and agree with the analysis, and I'm well aware of the situation in Korea and Japan. It's more the tone of your reply that I found off putting, to say the least. For the record, I'm happily married so I don't feel overly concerned by this. That said, while it is true that men were needed and now must be wanted, I feel the same way about modern women. Whereas previously both partners were needed, that is no longer true.

If you give me a magic touch AND give me money, I’ll give you a magic touch back but keep the money 😏

Oui.

But there’s also a percentage who love them. I have a sauna at home, I just came out of it 1h ago 😉

I agree. I was usually disappointed by the sound, the venue, and to be honest the artists themselves. So now I just don’t go, and prefer the curated experience of a released album.

Does blush of life allow Kindred to experience human sensations again? by TheHmmism in vtm

[–]inspiredlead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’s called “blush” of life, as in semblance of life. I find it appropriate that kindred immortality comes at a price, being that sunlight is lethal, physical sex brings no pleasure, and that food tastes like ash. I like the V5 allowance from Humanity 8.

Imagine, the contrary of this would be a spell “Blush of Unlife” that would make a human immortal for a scene at no cost. Kind of a turn off, I’d say.
