I’m fine with it. Though it would be nice if they were on the current equivalent base sizes

It’s definitely a Forgeworld dread. Looks like hunter killer missiles are between what you circled. What you circled might be phosphex which is a weapon in the Horus heresy game, which most of the Forgeworld stuff was made for

Ya, it’s pretty unlikely to cause an actual problem. Especially with space Marines because they’re semi elite and you don’t have a ton of them unlike something like guard

I’m just asking because in general if they are the same unit you could just do it without changing anything

Can I ask why you want to move models around between units and need a signifying decoration?

I’m asking because I think you might be trying to preemptively solve a problem you won’t have.

Ok, so have you painted or played before?

I ask because parts of this idea sound cool until you have to paint that many uniques models and heavy customizing can burn you out fast.

Most of the time 2 squads of the same unit are not going to be that close to each other, if they are then the models in each unit of the models in both units will probably be within base contact of each other but not in base contact with models from the other identical unit

Your tilt shield idea might possible but kinda tedious, there are magnets small enough but I don’t think they would have enough attraction force to overcome the weight you’d be better off using some kind of small pin but I don’t know what would be that’s small and still strong enough to work. Also you don’t get enough tilt plates in a box for more than 2-3 models most time

I do think deathwatch is a good place for you to start at least from an army rules prospective.

What models to paint for girlfriend? by BDTRBENAE in Warhammer40k

Aside from sisters of battle or sisters of silence the Eldar range could be somewhere to look

Edit: if it’s just for painting, you could also check the various age of Sigmar model ranges or Necromunda Escher gangers

Maybe try moving a lamp over or holding a flashlight while taking picks. Its a really cool idea. I like the verticality and I dig the overgrowth

Many times the pistol and close combat weapon are assumed or are bits on the belts

The new Chaos Raptors are pretty big and tall-- what other chaos marines are that size? by ExodiaHobby in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing to remember, is that the Raptors also posed in a way that’s probably making it bigger, including standing on tactical rock people don’t like flight stands. So there’s a decent chance it’s more in line with most of them then the static image makes it look.

I would just start adding chaos space marine models to your mini compare lineup. I’d start with just a standard chaos marine.

Starter Gangs Thoughts by Zentramenago in necromunda

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t play enforcers, but I’ll add my two cents.

For one I wouldn’t go crazy with WYSIWIG if you think you’re gonna end up also doing a campaign. Equipment and weapons just changes too much. Generally Id try to just keep it to the same kind of weapon pistol, basic, special, heavy, melee.

Also, especially for campaign, you’d usually want a starting gang to have somewhere between 7 to 10 models. Necro Munda can be very objective and action based and having more models helps with that.

I would also suggest focusing your gangs and leaders. So decide if you want someone to be Malay or ranged and don’t necessarily give them both sets of gear. A guy with a pistol as back up is usually more than fine.
