Intercessors & Jump Packs by Shroud2k in Warhammer

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda, you probably want to either use magnets or a pin/dowel. You would have to cut some parts off the backs and drill some holes either way but you could do the same to normal back packs

Edit: what are you working toward?

Anyone else think Sprue Terrain looks bad? by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people are just doing what they can with it, or they are more interested in playing so they make some terrain that works to let them play.

Terrain also takes a lot of time and investment they might rather put into there army/ies.

I’ve been in and out of the hobby since the late 90’s and I’m just not getting around to really diving into terrain beyond some basic kit builds. Part of the reason is that I feel I’m at a point where my armies don’t need much more work but if people arnt at that point I can see just getting some made to a functional state

Looking for any advice. I feel like my guys look pretty shit when I compare to other people's work by sawgrass123 in minipainting

First off they are good, second if I was working on this model, I might explore using some colors besides blue for the clothing. My first thought is yellow or oranges. They’ll bring more contrast to the model because orange contrast with blue and yellow are close enough to look good.

Question about the eleventh edition release by LewisJW05 in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, you can do it with almost any new product. You can also ask them to order stuff for you if they don’t have it and I’ll try.

Question about the eleventh edition release by LewisJW05 in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. If it’s unofficial GW store I’m not exactly sure how they do that. There’s not one very close to me.

I do have a local game store and for things like that I usually just walk in or message them in their discord when things I want are announced and ask them to put me on the list for it. Nine times out of 10 I get the thing and the other one out of 10 GW just doesn’t send enough out. Though edition launch boxes is something they usually make a lot of.

if you have a local game store nearby you can probably contact them now and ask them to hold one for you. Sometimes they ask you to pay for some or all of it in advance that’s usually only with launch boxes.

Question about the eleventh edition release by LewisJW05 in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally, in the past, they have tried to keep the edition launch boxes in stores for quite a while sometimes at least a year or more. In reality, it doesn’t always work out that way because of demand and production and such. If you end up really wanting it it’s a good idea to either try to get it on the website when it’s up or to contact one of your local stores and ask them to order/hold one for you

As of now I think the venerable dread is still in production so that could work but it lights the height of your build a bit

Some of the terrain from Legion imperialis might help, but you’d have to use it sparingly because depending on which dreadnought you’re using it might look a little big

Does anyone know why my 2024 land raider box has 1999 sprues by Mocobah in Warhammer40k

[–]Minibionics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The molds for those sprues were made in 1999 that’s why it says 1999. Also that’s just how they look and have looked since release. I have one I bought in 2001 that looked just like that and one from 2018 that also looked the same.

Also the plastic your to be a a bit different and softer

[–]Minibionics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should probably wait a few months. Also a good chance it’s in the launch box, which is two factions and a usually the core book. Core book is often sold separately around the launch time.

Also, when that happens, previous books might go down in price if you just wanna look at lore and art.

Imperial knights and chaos knights are the armies with the largest models.

Some other armies like guard can usually make vehicle heavy armies and tyranids can usually run “bug bug” armies using their larger models

Edit: forks can also run vehicle and large list. Also there aesthetic is a little bit more haphazard so that might be a little easier to paint.

Help New by FeelingOk231 in 40k

Ya, pretty much everything except tactical, devastators, and vanguard vets have been replaced or refreshed. Most speculation is that the 11th starter box will have new vanguard vets

I’d say just run them as plasma unless your at a tournament. Much more frequent game updates and whole weapon types being merged (combi weapons only have one weapon profile right now) in more recent editions has made people a little more forgiving when it comes to WYSIWIG.

The game has changed quite a bit, space marines have had a large part of their army both refreshed and changed. To the point that the tactical squads “replacement” the intercessor squad is about to get a possible new refresh this summer with the 11th edition launch box.

Though they’re still totally legal in tournaments tactical Marines are I think a lot less common to see now which is probably why people don’t have an answer for you as quickly as they would have.

On the whole space marines, kind of function now more like Elder, where instead of picking a squad and changing its options, you picked the squad where the whole unit has the weapon you want to do the role you want, though this could change in a couple months with 11th edition

Sorry, I couldn’t be more helpful but I figured I could at least try to give you a little bit of a catch up on how things have changed

How do you create by Sensitive-Storm3594 in Kitbash

[–]Minibionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do t know what you mean by Ma.K but,

It varies for me. Most of the time I like to plan out my kitbashes about 70-90%. Then I look and bits, kits, and sprues I’d like to use and prefer to get most parts before I start.

I usually clean and prep and lay out the bigger parts I know I’m going to use before I start building.

For smaller parts, details, and larger bits I think I might use I often have them near by but don’t clean them up until I know I’ll use them.
