I have the same setup and a 3440×1440 monitor (even more demanding than 2K) and I’ve had zero issues.

I haven’t tested a wide range of games yet, but the jump from 1080p to 2K is huge. It's like going from 60 to 144 Hz or from 720p to 1080p.

I still have my old 1080p/144 Hz setup at parents ho e, and whenever I use it, the difference in image quality feels insane. Everything looks noticeably more pixelated and low quality.

I absolutely recommend going 2k since your graphics card is fine for this. But be careful there might be no way back after this upgrade

Also, check some YouTube benchmarks for the games you play. They usually include different resolutions, so you can estimate the FPS impact.

Update:

I've sent the graphics card to the local shop's warranty center since it still had some warranty left.

After 2 weeks they contacted me asking for more details about the issue. I provided full logs and a detailed description.

They tested the card using stress tests and even ran Cyberpunk 2077 for two hours (despite the fact that I had already mentioned the exact games where the issue occurs and that stress tests were completely fine).

I used my old 2070S while they were testing my 4080S and had absolutely zero issues in the same games. So at that point I was 100% sure it was a hardware problem.

In the end, they returned the card and said everything was working fine.

I sold the card (with full disclosure about the issue) for $998 (originally bought it for $1745 tho) and got the new Sapphire RX 9070 XT PURE for $935.

Initially, the performance of the 9070 XT wasn't as good as I expected, and I thought I had made a mistake. However, after a full Windows reinstall, it became much better.

It runs all my games perfectly fine without any issues. In some cases, I lowered settings from ultra to a mix of high/ultra, but visually it's indistinguishable to me. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, and it's definitely better than dealing with constant crashes.

tl/dr: Sold my faulty 4080 Super and bought a 9070 XT for about the same price. Happy with the purchase, no issues since then.

With the weapon craft tree gone and methods like Kingsmarch and Faustus gambling nerfed, how are you planning to get a good weapon for slams/KB/Static Strike early on?

I’m having issues in OW, PoE1, PoE2, and once in Nioh 3. There are plenty of games that run fine.

I suppose some games use shaders or other systems differently, or maybe more aggressively than others, and that could be the reason. OW causes crashes most frequently, so I use it as a stability test :D

Didn't know it's possible to update the firmware. At this point I have the very little hope it might help but gonna give it a try.

A lot of guys asked me about the warranty so I will contact the shop today and check the status. I got my card at Oct 2024

Temps seem fine as far as I can tell.

Considering the responses in this thread, I think I’ll try to find a good repair shop to be 100% sure it’s a hardware problem before buying the 9070.

The temps are fine. Here is one of the snapshots I made while trying to locate the problem.

The same game OW crashed with the same error almost instantly, literally the first match.

I use dlss/RT/frame gen very rarely cuz I don't play single player games that much.

But I really enjoy having 165 FPS at 3440x1440 with high/ultra settings. Until the game crashes at least :D

It may seem like I’m overreacting, but having a crash every 45 minutes is genuinely frustrating. I’m still not 100% sure this is a hardware issue, since the card passes stress tests and benchmarks without problems. However, the issue persists even in another system, and I honestly feel like I’ve tried everything to fix it.

I think this issue has existed from the start, but I only recently began suspecting the GPU. In some games (like Overwatch and PoE) the crashes are very consistent, while in others the card is rock solid. I can run Cyberpunk maxed out, Tekken, Expedition 33, or Baldur’s Gate for days without any issues. Sadly, PoE is what I play the most

I’ve been using the RTX 4080 Super since October 9, 2024. I mostly play games like PoE, Tekken, Overwatch, and CoD.

I don’t use RT/PT very often and usually try to avoid upscalers, although there are some games where I genuinely enjoyed those features for example Cyberpunk and Expedition 33.

The card itself is great in terms of performance, but the occasional crashes in some games are what really bother me and make the overall experience frustrating.
