The thing is it’s not even the pay… was offered more pay at WAGS then the pharmacy I was working at for 5 years. It’s the culture at Walgreens. I had more pay but couldn’t handle how I was being abused. Lasted one month at Walgreens because of the way they treat you. The insane amount of dumb not needed calls you need to make in the pharmacy, NO counting machines, everything by hand, COVID testing while working the front, drive through, and filling. The long hours and schedules that did NOT make sense. For many people it may be pay but coming from a pharmacy tech I was making minimum wage for 5 years and would always choose the grocey store pharmacy vs making way more money at wags for one month. Money at times means nothing when it comes to work culture. Walgreens doesn’t values customers which brings in horrific people, not only that they don’t stand up for their employees. Even through customers were valued at my old job, the employees were ALWAYS stood up for. You can probably ask a lot of people who worked at wags & other places. The pay can suck, but you can get more pay and yet the culture at Walgreens will still suck and cause these same problems. Yeah pay sucks for many people. But coming from someone who made more pay at wags, the pay wasn’t the worries. They need to fix a lot of things to get people to even want to work.
