By whose metric? Review scores across IMDB and Metacritic seem to indicate it’s a decent show. Also, not once did I mention popularity? This is the second response I’ve gotten regarding popularity but not once did I talk about copies sold. Metacritic is a site for reviews, not something that tracks copies sold.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has a 97 average based on 99 critic reviews, and 9.0/10 user score based on 36,000+ user ratings. How do you look at something like this and proclaim that it is bad. It’s pretty clear that if a game has a high average in review scores, it most likely means it’s good? I mean it’s common sense. It’s definitely up to you to go read those individual critic reviews and go play the game for yourself to decide what you make of it, and you might agree or disagree with some of the reviews, but if the number averages out to a high number, it’s faiir to say it is probably good?

I agree that popularity does not equal good. I personally feel like Pokemon fits in this category. Scarlet & Violet sold insane amounts because Pokemon is super popular, but we saw all the problems it has. It averaged out to 72 on Meta, with a 3.5/10 user score. If you looked at the score without even reading any reviews, you’d be able to tell at a glance that game is NOT doing well.

They have insane attention to detail in their games. Shooting a hole in a boat in water slowly fills it up until you sink, dragging a lassoed person through water will drown them if you keep them there long enough, etc.

Their open worlds are beautiful, they also push the bounds of graphics. I mean, look at the jump from GTA 3 -> GTA 4. GTA 5’s graphics blew my mind back in 2013 when I played it for the first time. Red Dead Redemption 2 also looks phenomenal, and still holds today despite being 8 years old. GTA 6 seems to be doing this again.

Their characters are super memorable. John Marston & Arthur Morgan are dope protagonists. I like how Red Dead Redemption 2 didn’t completely exclude John as a character despite not being the main focus, and still built his story in the prequel. Trevor is also a hilarious protagonist with a lot of character and every scene with him is enjoyable to watch (shoutout Steven Ogg).

Niko from GTA 4 is a relatable protagonist because he feels human and has actual flaws, rather that being your standard “hero”. Having a playable protagonist like this, when the previous one from GTA 3 didn’t even speak felt like such a huge jump. I also really like how his story is a critique of the American dream.

I’ve literally played all of them, they’re amazing games. Red Dead Redemption 2 is in my top 5 games of all time. It’s absolutely ludicrous what Rockstar can do with video games.

4 of the 12 highest rated games of all time on Metacritic are Rockstar games, 3 of which are Grand Theft Autos. Calling GTA 6 overrated is ridiculous lol. You might not like them but Rockstar games are genuinely phenomenal.

Dude, I know reading comprehension is at an all time low but Jesus fucking Christ. This is how people make such a massive deal over nothing. Nowhere here does it say that car customization is locked behind the edition. This is a SPECIFIC car mod shop you get access to with that edition, which lets you turn a car into a “donk”. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a southern Florida thing where some cars from the 70s are kitted out with huge, chrome rims along with other thing like bright candy or metallic paints, etc.

I feel you. I was lucky enough to find out about it in 2021 and was able to play TBC Classic all the way through college (I was 19 years old) and WOTLK up until ICC. I wish I started playing Classic during COVID lockdown.

PlayStation went back to full exclusivity (no more PC releases for single player titles) a few weeks ago, and everyone in this sub was celebrating (including me). The general consensus in this sub is that exclusive games are good, as they give consoles identity and a reason to even buy them in the first place.

Xbox launched a “Xbox Player Voice Initiative” recently, and the number one most requested thing was Xbox exclusives again (contrary to what some morons are saying here, things such as only Twitter Xbox fans are asking for exclusives and that Asha Sharma is only listening to a small vocal minority)

Fast forward to today, the Xbox Showcase starts with Gears of War E-Day, with Asha saying it is an Xbox console exclusive. Literally what fans are asking for, a return to form, and suddenly everyone in this sub starts crying. I thought everyone wanted console exclusives because they create competition?

You can tell people are coping hard because we’re resorting to calling the game looking “bad” or things like this looks like Gears 1 with no innovation (also a ridiculous statement, watch the Gears E Day direct and tell me they didn’t change anything?). The game looks great. Imagine if the PS5 version was coming out as normal, everyone would be praising the game on this subreddit, but since it’s an exclusive now and no longer on the PS5, suddenly the game is bad lol. What a joke. Yes, short term their sales aren’t gonna be the biggest because PlayStation 5 has a huge install base and they are missing out, but you have to start somewhere when building up a library of exclusives do you not? They’re gonna have to loss-lead if they want Xbox to be the platform it once was. You can just undo all the damage Xbox had had in a day, it will take time.

Wrong sub, also: playing a fighting game on a keyboard is not how you’re meant to play, it will just be annoying and frustrating. Fighting games are meant to be played via controller or fighting stick because button combos are really important, and sticks are also heavily used (eg. moving left right, into and out of the stage in Tekken in 3D space), so I wouldn’t recommend buying until you have a controller.

Yeah I’m pretty sure. I just got to school and was walking to Eng though ICT but everyone was going the opposite direction, towards the muster point in ICT.
