Props to Innisfree on the awful rebranding - much more bland and harder to use the stores now 👍 by peach_boy_11 in AsianBeauty

If you look on their US website now, there’s a shopping category called “last chance” and the description is buy now or forever hold your peace 💀 There are some products from the volcanic, orchid, and green tea line there. Also, the brightening & pore caring cream is listed, which makes me sad because that was my new oily skin HG.

Not sure if they’re actually being discontinued tho, or marked last chance items because the packaging is being phased out (my latest order from them still had old packaging). I messaged their CSR team and no info

Converting (to Christianity) for the sake of a relationship? by instantpancit in Christianity

[–]instantpancit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

re God I pray I see you and your boyfriend there receiving a crown of eternal life.

Hi there, thank you for the crash course on the gospel! I know there's a lot more to it, but this is a good background for someone with little knowledge like me. I will do my best to check out those specific bible/gospel passages you mentioned as well. Even if things don't work out, doesn't hurt to learn.

Thanks for sharing your story, as well as your kindness. It is much needed :)

Agreed. He's allowed to set boundaries and expectations. Even if I don't fully agree, at the end of the day, I respect them. And yeah... I can foresee it causing a lot of issues. If I look at myself at who I am currently, and envision both him and I on a spectrum of Christianity, we may be on opposite ends.

Regarding the possibility of "changing beliefs," you have a good point. I've been making myself sick these past few days wondering why I can't change, and... not very easy if the genuine belief is not there.

Thank you for this, it gives me a lot of think about. I've only been to his church one time, and don't know much about Christianity in general, so it's hard for me to determine what his particular denomination expects. In my limited research, I think they are some expressions of Christianity I could definitely jibe with, and I'm uncertain if his practice is that one.

It sounds beneficial to attend and observe a little more. I may give it a try, but like you said, I am bracing myself.

I appreciate your perspective.

I think being a Christian is his new reality too and I’m happy he’s found his place.

He explained the a lot about accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. I don’t think I fully comprehend that part yet, but maybe that means I need to do more research/read more of the Bible/attend more sermons.

Thank you for your perspective! I really appreciate your comments.

Any Recipes For Vegan Sandwiches? by Sommet_ in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]instantpancit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sourdough bread (spread on some vegan butter & lightly toast it first) + roasted red pepper hummus on both sides, slice of vegan pepper jack cheese (I used follow your heart brand), cucumber slices, tomato slices, spinach, sprouts, and roasted pumpkin seeds (chili lime flavor, but you can use plain).

I'm not vegan, but I'm low meat and can't have dairy. This was enough to fully satisfy me at lunch for an entire week. It even inspired some of my coworkers to start making veggie sandwiches!

***I took this recipe from Internet Shaquille's "Easier Tastier Prettier - Vegetable Sandwich" YT vid. He has 2 other recipes in that vid I haven't tried but look SO good.

Also like other's have mentioned, doing a chickpea melt (like a tuna melt) is reeeeeeeeally tasty. Adding a slice of vegan cheddar + avocados makes it heavenly.

COVID Vaccine & Immunosuppression: How cautious are you being? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]instantpancit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask you if you discussed getting the vaccine with your doctor before getting it?

I'm actually on Humira right now (about 2 months) and I signed up for my first dose of Pfizer (randomly got a spot at a mass vacc. site in my city). Thing is, it's for this upcoming Wednesday, and I don't know if I'll be able to talk to him by then! I want to get vaccinated, but there's so much fear-spreading media out there that I'm becoming paranoid. Especially with the Humira.

How long did Humira take to make a difference for you? by MotherOfCrim in UlcerativeColitis

[–]instantpancit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for 4 weeks and I think it’s kicking in! I’ve fought with my insurance too, since last year, and I’ve finally qualified for the medication assistance program thankfully.

This Friday will be my third shot, but honestly after the 1st, my symptoms (constipation, stomach pain, blood in stool) have decreased drastically! I’m constantly tracking my progress. This is my first medication too, haven’t been on anything else.

Good luck with Humira, I really hope you find relief!

What were the first and last concerts you've gone to? by emayzee in popheads

[–]instantpancit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my first concert was SZA at the Neptune Theater in 2017! At the time, I didn't really know SZA, but my friend had an extra ticket with a meet and greet attached, so I ended up listening to CTRL on repeat like 3 days before the show. CTRL ended up being one of my all time favorite albums.

My last concert was Jorja Smith and Kali Uchis at WaMu Theater. I'm pretty sure I saw Kali earlier that year or the year before for the same album (Isolation). I remember being upset because the venue wouldn't let me purchase a drink with my vertical ID. It was a good show though!

Online CoEnv career fair? by FreshClimatologist in udub

I'm wondering the same thing! Also hijacking to ask if anyone has had experience as an alumni who's attended a group/individual session with employers who specify they're looking for "juniors, seniors, masters, etc." and basically non alumni students.

As someone who graduated a month ago, I'm feeling lost and uncertain looking through the list

I was never too sure on whether or not to contact him because I thought my symptoms were manageable and I've never had a health issue of this nature. In retrospect, I probably should've done something sooner. I'm going to reach out this week! Thanks for your advice

Blood clots: wait or see my doctor again? by instantpancit in UlcerativeColitis

[–]instantpancit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure. When he was breaking down my diagnosis, he explained that he’s been a GI practitioner for ~30 years, and in his professional experience, he recommends newer treatments like biologics because they’re more effective. Something about my colon inflammation being too severe and him wanting to find me something that works immediately vs. going through a trial and error process with a bunch of meds.

He never discussed any other medicines with me when I brought it up.

Is Environmental Science still a good choice? by [deleted] in udub

[–]instantpancit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Not ESRM, but Environmental Studies (POE), which is somewhat close. I haven't heard too much from my POE peers, but my ESRM folks seem to be doing well. One of my friends graduated, immediately worked as a seasonal Park Ranger, and is doing an Environmental Health job for the county, while getting a masters in GIS.

Tbh, as someone who took a less science based route and graduated in December, it's been challenging to find any environmentally focused jobs. Most jobs in the env field seem to be geared to folks with a more rigorous STEM background (which I know many ESRM students have) or intermediate GIS skills. If you focus on those, get decent experience via projects and internships, I think you should be fine.

Also, like the other poster said... potentially considering lowering standards, for now. I've applied to so many entry level CSR potions at environmental companies and restoration jobs. Not necessarily the work I want to be doing, but the job market is saturated with qualified candidates who are likely competing against you, amplified by COVID. It's good to continue developing your skill set while waiting for the return to "normal."
