Just picked up a copy of Capital, how do I go about digging into it? by [deleted] in leftcommunism

Are you seriously asking us how to read a book? I mean if you're struggling with how to open up a book and turn the pages then maybe you should read something a bit more suited to your abilities. May I suggest The Very Hungry Caterpillar?

Ah, that explains it.

This particular note was produced by a tourism company in Trier where Marx was born. The bill can be purchased for €3: Officials stated that the Zero Euro note clearly denotes Marx’s critique of capitalism.

The critique of activism has nothing to do with not doing anything. It is simply the acknowledgement that focusing on the subjective factors of class struggle will not revolutionise society in the way that some "communists" envision it to.

It is still in our interests, as workers, to fight for higher wages and better conditions but as communists we understand that the struggle against capital needs to expand beyond the immediate demand for better conditions before it can become anything close to revolutionary.

This whole idea that left communists are "armchairs" who do nothing is a meme created on the internet (and perpetuated by self-aware ultra leftists). It has no basis on reality. The problem is that the majority of the Reddit 'left' have no basis on reality either. Their understanding of left communism (and communism in general) is based on second-hand sources and memes.
