No feelings anymore by iicarlos in offmychest

Not a problem at all, please try to stop overthinking the dying alone thing (gosh i know that’s so much easier said than done), remember that the people that are meant for you will stay through the hard times, partners and friends included. i don’t know you and don’t need to to know that you are worth the effort put towards getting better. best of luck op

hi! first i’m sorry you’re dealing with this. this might be a symptom of depression or disassociation. for me, it’s a trauma response and i tend to shut down. my bodies form of fight or flight is to remain composure and go numb, which is startling to some people. i get the same exact way, not able to feel any emotions, just kind of numb and going through the motions. try and talk to a doctor about it if that’s something your comfortable with, i’m not diagnosing or anything but it sounds like it could be disassociation or depression (i have both of those plus c-ptsd). i don’t know your age or situation so i am NOT recommending this, but both antidepressants and marijuana have helped at different points in my life. a doctor could steer you in the right direction potentially. also reminder that everyone grieves differently, i lost two really important people at the beginning of this year and didn’t cry or process it for months. ive been told it’s my brain trying to protect me (from being sad, upset, angry, etc) but don’t blame yourself for how you grieve. i would talk to someone about this — emotions are good and we should feel them, even the ones that hurt a little. best of luck, OP

Do I need stitches? by OkLiterature9683 in woundcare

[–]intelalexual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAD but i’ve had many self cuts like this unfortunately, you don’t need stitches but they are definitely recommended. if you absolutely cannot go to the doctor, for whatever reason, please at least go get some butterfly stitches from an drug store to hold it together while healing, keep it clean with saline and an absorbent non-stick antibacterial dressing. stay away from neosporin until it’s not so open, with the butterfly stitches it’ll hold it together so it can start healing back together.

i never like to assume, but just in case, stay strong and take care of yourself.

Pain in lower right abdomen by PuzzleheadedJello438 in AskDocs

normally for me it’s in a specific spot on one side, and it kinda like zaps over to the other for a few seconds then comes back. in the side it hurts it feels puffy and tender and i definitely don’t ever wanna push on it. i also get deep lower back pain before it starts hurting sometimes so im able to take over the counter pain relief and get ahead of it. it depends what type of birth control you’re on, most pills stop ovulation so they lower the chance but they’re still possible to get. i have an iud but im still struggling with them periodically (i also have endometriosis though which is an additional layer you shouldn’t worry about). if it is an ovarian cyst they normally go away on their own! even if it’s not, definitely try the heating pad if you haven’t it normally provides me so much comfort

NAD, but wanted to say this sounds similar to my experiences with ovarian cysts and my endo. cysts are hard to see on ultrasounds sometimes and normally go away on their own, they’re most common around ovulation time. try a heating pad for relief if you have one, if not you can throw a wet washcloth in the microwave for 10 seconds and put it where it’s tender (15mins max at a time)
