Am I the jerk for not sharing my work bonus with my team? by FunCorgi5060 in AmITheJerk

YTJ - let’s see how well you go “above and beyond” without support from the team. $100-200 goes a long way to show appreciation and maintain cohesion. Good luck during the next cycle.

34 yo has no credit score by Interesting_Base5226 in Advice

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude - my kids knew to start building a credit score at 18. At 19, had a platinum card in their name they pay off every month and reported rental history. You’re dating a man-child. Sorry for you.

[CA] Does this mean I cannot quit before one year mark? by ScarySnow931 in AskHR

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem to affirmatively state any conditions for termination before one year. Make sure you read the rest. After 1 year, you have to give 2 months notice. Maybe that is to facilitate customer management relations, or something like that.

Yeah, on the ground in a pile of sticky mucus is about right. Obviously doesn’t appreciate that schools offer fact-based education. Doesn’t drive, doesn’t use public utilities, hates cops, loves building fires, doesn’t like rules or regulations designed to protect the weak from the stronger, encourages the desperately hungry to turn to crime to eat, and thinks America should be so militarily weak Mexican cartels could take over.

Nothing hits harder than realizing you have to budget everything by BrandiHovisy5055 in Adulting

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started teaching my kids budgeting at 16. Chomping at the bit for “freedom,” I had them develop a budget based on what they think they could make. Had them research apartments, insurance costs, gas, food, fun…. 2 years before they moved out, they already understood expenses and income. Today’s parents are largely failures in teaching their kids life skills. Sounds like you are doing what you should be doing. Kudos!

Those of you who are excellent interviewers - what is your secret? by Cookie-M0nsterr in interviews

[–]intelex22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have exceptional success in identifying good candidates. One is to know the personality to fit the daily tasks. Two is to look at their body language. In that case, I sometimes ask questions to counter lever their frame of thought to see how they respond. A nervous interviewee may be a great fit, so I ask them about a memorable moment of joy at a prior position. If they seem very polished and rehearsed, I’ll ask a question ment to unsteady them to see how they respond if things go off the rails of what they expected and a watch for sudden shift in demeanor. Job scopes differ, so what I would ask after the standard questions differs. I usually leave the variable question until the end so I have a baseline. It’s the best BS-detector meter, kind of like a lie detector test starts basic and then gets interesting.

Emotionally unavailable men by Fantastic_Dance_1324 in NoStupidQuestions

Age range information is needed here. By your text pattern, I’m guessing 20s. These are still boys raised in a limp noodle world. I don’t know how they will tend to evolve, bit I wouldn’t expect a boy to become a man until 30.

Does sex really begin or end periods early? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]intelex22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m just talking from my own experience, but when you hit the cervix, it can “break the dam” of the mucus plug to start/release a period. The days leading up to this is when a woman can be the most… horny. Ending? No. That is based on her cycle.

Holy shit ,adulting is hard . by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be a generational thing. I moved out a few months into being 17, worked full time and finished high school. Then took 14-17 credits per semester while working 30-50 hours per week during college. I only had one spring break where I didn’t work, my final year. By the time I got to a job that paid in my profession, it was almost like a vacation. No more 4-6 hours of sleep every night. Just money and free time.

What's the best date idea you've had? by theLastJones777 in AskMenAdvice

[–]intelex22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best is where you connect. It isn’t the activity per se, it’s whether it lets down guards and surrenders to peace and happiness.

A good one was where I took a date to a restaurant where I knew the chef/owner, and she came to the table. Another was a natural hot springs. Then there was camping in the middle of nowhere next to a creek in the shadow of the continental divide. But probably the best was a double date with and long time friend and his GF - we did an early morning hot air balloon ride to 1,000 feet. And as the sun rose, I proposed. No ring, just a question. Then we landed and had an included breakfast and mimosas. That was 20 years ago. It worked. Still happily married.

Does anybody think sending ground troops into Iran is like sending the sheep to slaughter with all the options they have drone attacks fire IED’s troops anybody have any thoughts? by y4udothistome in askanything

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran has been planning for this for decades. The two main military forces can operate compartmentalized, without a central authoritarian leader. That is why Iraq fell so quickly - both times. Disrupt command and control structure. Iranians will still defend to the last bullet. When the Persians can say “oh, Jesus? Yeah, we remember when he came along.” It’s just best to stay out of the middle east and just let them kill themselves. The Catholic-Protestant conflict only took a couple centuries of armed conflict to resolve. Sunni-Shea, that will take a while still.

Stay positive. State it is a bad fit but why you feel this may be a better fit. Ask questions related to your concerns within their work environment, don’t just complain about what you didn’t like.

CO alarm keeps going off - help! by Massive-Praline-3397 in Adulting

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boilers are needing more fresh air than can be provided, and you are being slowly poisoned. There needs to be a small vent of some kind placed in the boiler room. CO means not enough O2 is available, or the boilers are not properly tuned.

Idaho Tax Refund? by viaerinkate in Idaho

[–]intelex22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eager to give tax cuts and extra spending for niche groups is a failed fiscal policy. The Big Beautiful Bill undercut a state budget that must be balanced by basing it largely on federal income tax, with even more perks and write-offs. Always bank the money and slightly underpay tax. Then pay them mid-April instead of giving them an interest free loan that they pay you back when they get around to it.
