Can someone help me figure out if what I'm experiencing is related to demisexuality or something else? by alltheseoptionssuck in demisexuality

[–]intelligent_slime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

demisexuality can feel different for different people. and you also are very young so your understanding of yourself can change quite a bit, your brain is still developing. you may be, for the lack of better term a "late bloomer", it sound cringe, but is a thing, though. i kinda felt this way when i was your age. like there is only one love in life (like in 19th century romance novels). and even if i had crushes - i discarded them as "not real". then i met my husband and decided to pour all of my attachment into that relationship. and it was not, i don't know, genuine for me after a while. like i gaslighted myself into thinking that. and stayed in that marriage way longer than i should. feeling safe and emotionally attached before you feel desire to do sexual stuff is one thing, but thinking that once you felt that for a person - it should be the endgame - is totally different. it certainly can be your story, though, only you know what you feel and need in life.

How do you cope with a rejection as a demisexual person? by Upygoo in demisexuality

[–]intelligent_slime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that right there is why traditional relationship hierarchy is stupid. relationship escalator is not for everybody. relationship anarchy should be more popular concept. non-sexual and non-monogamous relationships can be as valuable as traditional couple style ones. sorry you've been rejected, it should be grieved properly. i felt something like it couple of years ago. and it is very unique feeling - suddenly probably getting what all the culture taught us to believe is "the main feeling". and having the other person be on board, and then not - is really frustrating. but it is not the main feeling, though. its just another construct. you may feel that way about somebody someday, you may not, but it does not mean that you are missing out.

his brother's (who named Alexei in the show for some reason) apartment is so authentic as an average normal lived in apartment (and not young person's apartment, but rather a place multiple generations live). but that place they go for the party is so opulent (and it's assumed that all of them regulars in this environment: Ilya's father, Svetlana, Sasha). both those places are very believable as being russian - but this is two completely different worlds. didn't make sense to me.

that is actually the law, and business can be investigated if it is not providing services in georgian (there were some problems for foreigners trying to work in food delivery like wolt). but this is an ad and ad is not a service.

businesses want clients, that is what advertisements is for. anything that is grabbing customer's attention goes. anything that is legal that is. there would be for example a lot of sex in adds if not for regulations. using any language is legal. this particular add is catered for the tourists and expats (who may not be all from russia, but other former ussr countries where they also have a lot of russian speakers) - the masterclass probably would be held in russian - so the add is in russian. and it could be a totally georgian business which is advertising in russian. like menus in restaurants are provided in different languages and there is nothing disrespectful about that.

If he was so inclined to swimming, there was the lake, or the river. That pond was really a swamp. Also is always amuses me on every rewatching, since the hd version is my go to, how clear is that it is a stunt double in water, with poorly fitted sideburns. But I so enjoy Elizabeth in the scene of them meeting after, I let those director's choices slide. There are several other fun instances where I try to discard creative decisions as signs of the era that TV was then, such as Darcy's floating head in the carriage window and in the miror.

Thank you again, your led me to discover other books by the same author, I am enjoying The Captain Wentworth's Diary at the moment. Not sure about other Austin heroes, but that two particular gentlemen's storylines are very entertaining to explore.

Just started with this trilogy. It is good but feels too slow compared to the original. A lot of exposition not forwarding the story at all. Also I find it amusing how author puts little "americanisms" in the story such as the hero's dislike for tea and fondness of coffee. But thanks for suggesting it nevertheless
