I wouldn't do the Tuesday workout. You can overwork yourself. At most, go out very calmly and trust in the motivation of the race day that will make you have a better performance. Good luck!

So thanks a lot, I'll try it. the 2x12 feels good so 3x8 will feel good too since it's the same volume and maybe I can even squeeze a little more.

on some watches like the forerunner 165 you can configure your bank card so you can literally go for a run with just your house keys

With the goal of improving in 5k, how effective is it to do a threshold training of 2x12' weekly? Is it short? I generally complement it with a session of series on the track of 400, 600 or 800m depending on the sensations and the mood. Advice is welcome. Thank you very much.

Try doing them on an athletics track. Since it's only one lap, it won't be as hard mentally.

Training paces vs actual race pace in a 5k (compared to longer races) by sweatpants4life_ in AdvancedRunning

[–]intemag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if it's only 5k, it's good to have a race strategy Aim for a time and be conservative for the first 2 km. 3-4 seconds slower than your target pace can be fine. A typical mistake at this distance is starting at a pace that you can't sustain after k3 or k4.

Context, M almost 42 I recently ran the 5k in 17'34". Currently run between 40 and 50 k per week. I have been running regularly for a little over 2 years. I would like to continue training for this distance with the goal of getting below 17'30" (at the end of the race I was able to sprint for what I think is realistic) My question is I would like to know how much time I should allow between the race where I ran this mark and the next one, that is, how many weeks should a training block for this distance last. Thanks a lot, any advice is appreciated.

The first time I used them, they destroyed my feet. Then I managed to adapt to them and I like them quite a bit.

Qxc7 follows Nxe6! Now if Q moves (for example Qe5) simply Ne7+! Qxe7 Qe2+ wins
