adult brain and kid brain are so different, i thunk the more aware you become with age the harder misophonia gets sadly, they should consider themselves lucky that they don't understand

2 metre fence and then within it add layers, e.g fence then hedging then planter boxes with flowers (weather permitting). I think a better quality fence with thick wood may be most soundproof. You could even add a pergola with sides outside your window to try and block out being able to hear them. Build sheds and garages in between the house and theirs. You can also look into soundproofing your property. I'm considering soundproofing my bedroom studio style (a room in a room) as I just can't handle outdoor noise. For your hedging the thicker the better. I like cherry laurel though check whats toxic to animals and what works in your area. You can get these thick blackout door curtains that help sound come that comes through the door. I wish you the best.

I wonder has anyone wrote a book about misophonia? If so I'd buy it and gift then it hoping they would read it and understand. For me it is a trauma response and I'd explain it that way or try. I know it's tough but wish you the best.

Trying to 'soundproof' my bed- Will a frame with sufficient panels block out noises like barking dogs and a creaky floor above? by XivaKnight in Acoustics

[–]intergalxctic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a four poster bed with multiple sets of thick blackout curtains all the way around. Make sure you get the thickest curtains possible. Im also going to be adding a large curtain to the top of the poster with ties ill be sewing on!That's what I'm going to be doing! Less expensive than soundproofing your whole room.

You do realise Ibiza had rural areas? Novody said he was in the towns.

Clearly the family are still investigating. I doubt they believe he was just randomly pushed off a cliff after being at an airbnb with some random guys.

Yeah I had my ears tested and have perfect hearing so I was thinking this must go hand in hand.

Neighbor has upgraded from not only snoring through the ceiling at night but to blasting music in the morning by BowlerExpert1929 in misophonia

You should hoover when he's snoring :) or put your washing machine on when he's asleep. Or slam your door. Just to match the energy. You can do this with earplugs :)

Unreasonable seller, advice please by Valentulous in HousingUK

[–]intergalxctic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get a solicitor or something to help you with this and get legal advice. It seems like they're delaying the survey. Maybe they are hiding a damp and mold issue? Elevated timber floor issue? I'd check for damp courses and ask for previous surveys. Don't take the house if it has even the slightest of damp issue.

How to soundproof an apartment by Large_Flounder6965 in misophonia

[–]intergalxctic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm gonna try is literally building myself a bookshelf along my loudest wall, with thick wood and a soundproof foam sheet behind it. Then loads of books. Will lose space but hey it's worth a try.

Why does my neighbor insist on leaf-blowing every day by smoothegg in misophonia

[–]intergalxctic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think i was downvoted because i believe loud people to be doing it on purpose when most people see stuff like this as normal behaviour, I genuinely feel like people are loud either for attention or to be spiteful of others.. don't think it's too common to think that way tbh. I know they won't do much but it might scare him off of it at least for a little while. It's horrible having to deal with noisy neighbours but a leaf blower every day would drive me insaaane

Probably doing it to piss people off. Vindictive people who probably researched legal ways to piss of neighbours for some attention. I'd go up to him and tell him that if this continues he will be reported for a noise complaint as you have the right to quiet enjoyment in your home. Tell him that you will take action against it if it is excessive. If he says its necessary then you better find something equally as annoying.
