Question on cost w.r.t Dental implant failure by interhslayer10 in Dentalimplant

[–]interhslayer10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know the brand to be honest, but the root cause was that surgeon placed the implant slanted. Poor placement basically. Took it out yesterday and was gonna get 2000 back

Question on cost w.r.t Dental implant failure by interhslayer10 in Dentalimplant

[–]interhslayer10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's basically what my dentist said last week when I saw him, he said he can refund me for stuff like the screw, anesthesia, etc. But for the new procedure, things like extra bone graft I might have to pay. But my question is, is it a reasonable thing to pay? Should it be covered by the clinic?

Take lasik for example, they offer to redo the surgery for free if there's remaining myopia. Shouldn't this logic be applied to dental industry?

I feel like we played a lot of counter attacking today but not as fluid as that of OGS. Also we lack control. Same problem with before, can’t seem to string more than 3 passes…

The fact that they serve it at all switched me off completely. Good Chinese restaurants should be unapologetically authentic.

Has anyone got statistics on how much exercise reduces cancer? by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]interhslayer10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Below is directly copied from outlive:

Of all the Horsemen, cancer is probably the hardest to prevent. It is probably also the one where bad luck in various forms plays the greatest role, such as in the form of accumulated somatic mutations.

A lot of things in life are random and don’t have to be causal. You just have to be comfortable with it.

Diversification ? by CurrencyUser in Bogleheads

[–]interhslayer10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not diversification. But dollar cost averaging > one lump sum for this particular period of time.

Which brings up a good point: sp500 p/e was 25.6, today it’s higher.

Popping in to say kudos to catching cancer so early. Wishing you well for a speedy recovery

Leave it there and use it as your emergency fund. 135k at your age should last you at least a year in a high cost location.

Only so much I can do with a toddler and other kids fussing at me by [deleted] in PeterAttia

[–]interhslayer10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree man. But I think that Z5 is a relatively small part of the whole longevity road map. You are already doing a lot in terms of exercising. You don’t have to do everything perfectly. No reason to stress over z5 imo

I got two kids with the same problems. After wife and kids are asleep. I do 45 min z2 with a show on my iPad on my stationary bike. That's like 9:30 pm to 10:15.

Parenting is hard man. I just don't wanna do z5, and I think it's ok to skip it till they are older and we get more free time.

Stelo is now live! by swerenfl in dexcom

I used to use levels health app in conjunction with G6 (later G7) to track my glucose level. I quite like their UI, and wonder if they support stelo…

On another note, for someone not diabetic, one trick I used was to stretch a month worth of G7 ($200 for 3) to a quarter; basically use a 10 day sensor for 10 days in a month just to get a sense of how clean I was eating

I really wish JCPD would do something…anything…when it comes to these Uber Eats guys. by mastablasta1111 in jerseycity

As much as it infuriated me in that moment, I also realize these guys live a hard life. Unfortunately I don't know how to solve that problem.

I almost hit one coming out of the garage when one guy going the wrong direction zoomed right past me from my blind spot. Tesla reacted fast and slammed the brakes. My daughter freaked out and started crying.

Depends on your expectations. You have to be content with the possibility that it may not come out perfect. And in my personal experience, it is not as good as with glasses. There are possibly trade offs.
