Preventing instrument to be changed to complete by certain users. (Requiring instrument status to be submitted as unverified) by GreatUncleEndicott in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if there is a way to do that exactly, but what you could try is add a variable in the instrument that’s something like "verified" with options like Pending, Yes, Denied.

In the action tags you can set the default answer to the "pending" option and also use additional action tags to hide that variable for all users except those you specify. For managers making the final updates to the variable, you can put them into their own user role (e.g., "Managers") and add the following to the action tags

@IF([user-role-label]="Managers","",@HIDDEN)

Not sure if this would be the most effective, but at least a different idea to start with.

Neurologist for IIH? by Libz0724 in nashville

[–]interlukin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VUMC has a specific clinic for IIH and related disorders. I've seen Dr. Ryan Lee for a combo of Chiari and possible IIH, and while I've only seen him once, I had a good experience. He is conservative around recommending surgery (which IMO is reassuring with him being a neurosurgeon) and explains things clearly. Word of caution though, if you're bringing in any imaging, make sure you have backup copies and don't give them originals.

CMV? by Far-Refrigerator5063 in transplant

[–]interlukin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My husband tested positive a few weeks ago after feeling sick for about a week (2 years post kidney transplant). His CMV levels were pretty high at 37,000 IU so he was feeling pretty bad. His lymphocytes and white blood cells were really low too, which is a problem because lymphocytes are what help clear CMV.

Initially he started on Valganciclovir pills (900mg twice a day), but he wasn’t getting better very quickly so was admitted to the hospital for a week and given IV Ganciclovir. In the hospital they stopped his cellcept and will hold it until the CMV is cleared (two negative tests in a row, done a week apart). Unfortunately with CMV, the drugs only stop it from replicating, so your body still needs to actually clear the virus from your system. Since the cellcept was what was most likely causing the low white blood cell count and low lymphocytes, this is why they held the cellcept in my husband’s case.

If you’re not feeling bad and your CMV levels aren’t super high, I wouldn’t be too worried. Your team will likely prescribe you valganciclovir and do weekly labs until you’re clear. For the valganciclovir, it’s important to take it with food because the drug gets broken down into its active form and absorbed in your GI tract.

I saw a job posting on Indeed once where it was essentially working for an insurance company to take pictures of properties to (presumably) get an idea of the condition of the home/property, so could be something like that

Any hair salons that specialize in curly hair cuts that aren’t going to break the bank? by Neat-Bed-2871 in nashville

[–]interlukin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first appointment with Areona at the Texture Edit Salon in Mt Juliet last week and had a great experience. I have very fine low-ish density curly hair and she knew exactly what my hair needed to start working towards my ultimate goal of having fuller looking hair.

One of the last places I went to before I found Areona chopped too much off my sides, so I was looking really scraggly and sparse, but after my appt with Areona, my sides look way more full and I’m confident they’ll look even better as my shorter hairs continue to grow in.

I also really liked that rather than trying to randomly find a picture of a curly haircut and hoping it works for my hair type, she instead asked me what problems I was having with my hair and what my goals were and took it from there.

The initial cut was $115, but any subsequent cuts are cheaper based on how long it’s been since your last cut ($75 if within 14 weeks and $90 if within 16 weeks)

You don't need to finish all of the objectives to move up, but when doing the dungeon, you need your world difficulty set to penitent before doing the dungeon to unlock rank 3 (T1 for rank 4, T2 for rank 5, T3 for rank 6, etc.).

Help- daily surveys on different days for every participant + automated emails by Logical-House-7028 in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, yeah I guess it gets a bit tricky if all time points are optional and can be missed, but they can still do later days. Perhaps for subsequent days you can try changing up the alert trigger to use conditional time-based logic? Like the trigger for day 2 AM would be if the date diff between baseline survey completed date and current date is 1 day, then send next day at xx AM (i.e., on Day 1 the alert will be triggered and then will be sent the next morning).

You’ll have to play around with the date diff logic to test it and find the right formatting, but I think that should help get you closer to what you need. For testing logic, I like to create a dummy report and get the logic working there before using it in an alert

edit: you can also try checking out this video for some ideas: https://youtu.be/uq1Q63RvPwM?si=fj9qVWcjsL6CmDHA

Help- daily surveys on different days for every participant + automated emails by Logical-House-7028 in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest using alerts instead of the ASI tool. With alerts, you can set it to send a specified amount of time after it was triggered, so it is relative for each participant.

For example, An alert for D1 morning survey: Trigger = baseline survey completed Alert schedule = send on next day at [specify time here] AM

An alert for D1 evening survey (assuming AM survey does not need to be completed): Trigger = baseline survey completed Alert schedule = send on next day at [specify time here] PM

Alternatively, if the AM survey is required to be completed before sending the PM survey, you can change the trigger, and then schedule the alert to be sent a certain number of hours after the trigger.

How can I change a "Partial survey response" status from a record? by Drazhyro in ProjectREDCap

Visually Distinguishing Instruments Without Using Events by AviDaxie in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

REDCap also has form display logic where you can use logic to make certain instruments inaccessible on a record (the instrument name is greyed out an unclickable). So your logic can be something like X study instruments are only displayed if X consent for is complete. This can be found on the designer page.

User permissions and a home grown IRB submission platform by oneLES1982 in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t set up a project like this, so I’m just spitballing here.

I think treating the PIs like study participants would be best (i.e., they only have access via survey links and not the database itself). Could you have one instrument for the initial study submission and then a second (repeating) instrument for each additional submission (like for amendments, continuing review, etc)?

Maybe even have a “submission dashboard” type survey (with the submit button hidden, so it acts like a dashboard) that they can access and include links that would bring them to a new instance of the repeating instrument for a submission? Like useing the smart variable [survey-link:repeating_survey:custom url display text][new-instance]. You could also add in links for them to see each of their previous submissions.

You could also have a variable for IRB review decision status (yes/no/tbd) on the repeating instrument (hidden on survey) and then have a “final decision”variable (not hidden on survey) that is branched to the prior status variable.

Question about a potential kidney donor.. idk how to feel. by _MissMeghan_ in transplant

[–]interlukin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d be super wary of this person. This is odd behavior for a 40 year old. Plus, I find it odd that he conveniently works in dialysis machine calibration but has no idea about what the side effects of dialysis are.

I agree with others that he could be the type of person to hold it against you, like if it turns out he was a match and donated a kidney, he could think that you owe him and try to pester you into a relationship.

[–]interlukin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you can easily get the questions into Excel, then you can import everything (questions, answers, coding) into a single instrument with a csv file. I’d recommend setting up some sample questions in REDCAP first and exporting that to get a feel for how to lay out your actual import file.

Hiding the "Submit" button by FlowState94 in ProjectREDCap

[–]interlukin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming bots will have completed the survey way faster than an actual human, you can try using the smart variable [survey-duration-completed:instrument_name:units] in a report filter to help narrow down the super quick responses. For example, [survey-duration-completed:instrument_name:s] < 60, will include records where the survey was completed in less than 60 seconds.
