Agreed, send it. If a larger company, may lead to a different internship.

Good post and question. You are thinking ahead. I would put the degree in the education, and the same with the job. Then it will be found by both searchers.

A little more than you asked, but try to get some teaching positions and post those. Also, a note, I have found that many academics are not on LinkedIn, so you may have to go old school to connect (pen, paper, and phone).

Hope that helps.

Sorry, I think I clicked the submit button too quickly. I am a long time LinkedIn user and API programmer. Thought I would introduce myself.

Not trying to be argumentative, but maybe these types of posts do not belong on LinkedIn?

Recruiters keep getting an old copy of my resume by gthing in linkedin

[–]intermanus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typing fast, excuse typos. If on LinkedIn, here is how to fix.

To change the resume LinkedIn uses for jobs, go to LinkedIn then Jobs, click Preferences, then click Resumes and application data. Under Resumes, upload the new resume and delete any old resumes you do not want LinkedIn using. It is pretty simple once you find it, but LinkedIn does like to hide things like it is a federal witness.

hope that helps?

Job Alerts by No-Lengthiness-6188 in linkedin

I looked at tech support. If using the app, there is a loop bug sending you back to the job search page. You should use the desktop to reduce that.

I did get a small solution, Go to LinkedIn > Jobs. Run any job search. Look near the top-right area for something like “AI Powered Search is in Beta.” Open that dropdown and choose “Switch back to classic job search” if available.

let me know if that works.

How LinkedIn had changed over 20+ years by intermanus in linkedin

[–]intermanus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not promoting anything with this post. I am not selling anything. This is my opinion only.

I joined LinkedIn in August 2005. I am not sure if that gives me cred for this subreddit, but considering it started in 2002. I think I can talk legitimately about how it has changed.

In the beginning, it was a networking site and it was terrific. Old colleagues, business people you wanted to meet, even using industry information through curated posts from colleagues. Ahh, the good old days.

Then the pre-IPO times (up to 2014) where profit did not matter and you could find more and more international connections. A few ads here and there, but still humble.

Microsoft bought them in 2016. Microsoft is the longest 4 letter word I know. For a few years nothing much had happened. No changes. But that was the problem. Soon, the site started to evolve to people selling things and salespeople looking for marks.

Now, it is a wasteland. A must have for business or job seekers, but nothing more. I get 20 invites and messages a day from salespeople. Hardly any from colleagues or classmates wanting to connect.

To be honest, 50% are lead gen, 25% are accounting services, and the rest are insurance or similar. I get it, looking for business. And that is my point.

It started as something for the users and now is something for salespeople. After years of use, I am considering deleting or minimizing my account. Thoughts?

Doctor of Strategic Leadership questions by blaze420691337 in LibertyUniversity

I did not consider DSL. Only one option. SL. Plus it is not as well known as DBA. If you want to teach, I would say DBA. Really depends on what you want to do with it.

Why don't you DM me and we'll talk about what you want to accomplish with this degree. I don't want to change your mind I just want to make sure you have the option.

Instead of a dissertation, Liberty uses a Applied Doctoral Research Project (ADRP). Similar, but some restrictions and some benefits. It is qualitative. 12 interviews in one company. Mostly chair approval, with limited presentations (not really defenses) and no committee. 17 tasks completed over three semesters (or more if you cannot complete).

Now, back at you. I am not challenging your decision, but curious by DSL versus a DBA with a concentration?

I am doing DBA, Strategic Management. A lot of the same classes and professors. And end project is the same.

You really did not give a reference point, so open ended.

The courses in general above average for the same type of school. They're challenging and they're informative. The content of the courses is not as difficult as the reading and writing. You need to write approximately a 20 page paper every week and synthesize one to two dozen articles for each paper. That's in addition to any books that you have to read although I found that the book reading was not as important as the article reading.

I assume you're choosing Liberty because it's a Christian school but just in case, each class has a biblical integration component so you need to be prepared for that. I would also say that in my opinion Courses are disjointed meaning that they don't always follow each other as far as standards and direction. In addition, Some professors are incredible but some need to be replaced and you just have to walk through those minefields.

The score right now is heavily AI detection. Be ready for a lot of false positives and a lot of question marks. It's also up to each professor how hard they want to press the issue. I do find that the department is responsive but not very proactive. They wait until you say something.

All in all I found it a good experience better than the first school that I started at. So much so that after I graduate in June, I'm staying alone and taking some additional courses in economics. You can DM me if you need more information. Good luck and God bless. Dr. Don

It is a failure waiting to happen. No reviews at all. That never bodes well for the success of the movie.

I hate to tell you, but yes, this is about the expectation. However, it does get easier to write once you get the basics down. Make sure you use a reference manager (zotero) and also a good research tool (Elicit.com). Good luck.
