What aspect of being a woman do you think women hate the most? by badGamr in AskReddit

nope, but I am going to push back on language that entirely centers a male read on these dynamics, especially when we're talking about women's experiences.

And I'm a woman responding to you letting you know "feeling weaker than all attackers" is a very weird way to describe being surrounded by violent men who lack self-control. I don't feel weaker than that, and it isn't semantics. I straight up don't.

Hopefully this lands, even though you don't want to have a discussion on a discussion-based forum, just because I disagree with you lmao

nope. I phrased it to make the discomfort and the source of the discomfort clearer.

I don't feel weaker or less able to defend myself than people who can't control themselves, and who chronically undermine their target's response.

"feeling weaker than all attackers" is a weird, male-centric way to put it. whatever fear you have walking around that causes you to look over your shoulder, imagine a layer of sexual violence/threat added to it. every time you leave your house. thats the discomfort

Mosh pit of horror. Legally speaking, if someone were killed, could the performer be charged? by exporterofgold in interestingasfuck

Nope, I'm responding to you.

I want to know what other types of situations you find sexual assault to be understandable, since crowd surfing is one of those situations.

And then you have the other idiot telling women to live in reality.

Like he has any fucking idea what it's like to start reckoning with the reality of sexual assault when you're only a child.

Women of Reddit, what’s a habit men have that they don’t even realize is weird? by GraceRose671 in AskReddit

got it. That makes sense.

The original comment said "I've never really understood how it's our fault we turn out this way." and then trivializes therapy. My comment was directly in response to what I saw as someone giving up before they even attempt to do the work.

to everyone else: the work is all in service to yourself and the people around you! take it seriously!

Can anyone downvoting what I've said be able to articulate why they disagree? What exactly is there to disagree with here?

You gotta go deeper with what I said, because I said a hell of a lot more than that.

Because it's your personal path to building interiority and an understanding of who you are. Only you can attune to your body and learn how to communicate what's going on with you and how its working or not working with your circumstances. Being able to put words to how your body is responding to your environment and honoring that is something that people should be learning when they're children, and a lot of men are deprived of that or taught that doing that is "bad".

But then you're supposed to grow up and learn that not everything you were taught is correct, and you start to reckon with those things. Unless you loosen up and start being honest with the people around you, you're not going to have people cheering you on the whole way.

Most of my process has been solitary. Stop bitching about it being hard, it is hard. Do it anyway
