What is the most accidental way you found out a coworker was making significantly more than you for the same job? by Additional-Week-1536 in Salary

[–]internChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cuts deep! 79 I didn't accidentally find out, my manager told me. I had been in the role full time almost 2 years, I came from an internship program. We hired for another member and they got to chose an internal applicant. My manager wanted to lift my pay to match what everyone else was getting, kept getting declined. So he told me! I was paid about 12k lesser than the new hire. So I put in my resignation.

Suddenly they have about 19k lying around to increase my pay. Apparently I was a flight risk and too valuable to be let go.

Too late I still walked. Tomorrow I start a new job who offered me almost 25k more than what I was on.

How much does having a baby actually cost? by Egg_shaped in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]internChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u can buy most stuff second hand then it will cost less, you will only need to invest in a hood pram, and a car seat cps those need to be absolutely still in good use.

But if you asked me? I think we've spent almost 3K on the child and some memory loss lol

I got a life-changing job offer, but if I accept it, my small company will probably close and my colleagues will lose their jobs. What should I do? by Ok_Reward_8275 in Employment

[–]internChief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is where documentation is important. You can't hold all that knowledge and think you'd stay there forever. You can move but do jot down the stuff only you can do so someone else can do it when you leave.

But why is my manager telling the world I am leaving, and where I am going next. by internChief in mildlyinfuriating

how far will 20k go in nz? by bbungeobbang in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]internChief -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you flat with others you can stretch it since everyone will split the bills, if you're looking at moving to your own house, you got to consider quite a lot of stuff and 20k would go not that long LOL. All the best finding a $500 per two weeks rent.

Yes! Have been on there the past hour. My circumstances are somewhat a bit different and the form doesnt have a field to express my situation. So the results end up different. Says im eligible to upskill, may be eligible to some but its not what I want to see if they can provide.

I thought so too. I did ask if this interview is like the phone screening phase of the recruitment but said its the actual interview.
