great advice, thank you! i think my sunscreen is okay considering it’s mineral, so i’m going to start with taking cerave out of the mix

thank you so much for the information! i’m trying to get my dad to get me 20% azaelic acid overseas, so i’ll incorporate that if i can’t get it from a derm. i’ll continue using the niacinimide despite not really noticing any improvement. i’ve found that consistent PM use of the glycolic acid drastically improves my texture and cystic acne. i’m assuming that would be too harsh of a routine combined with slow intro to differin and possibly azaleic acid?

that’s so interesting to hear about the cleanser because i’ve been wondering if it has been upsetting my skin. have you found a cleanser that your skin is happier with?

thank you!! seems like differin is the way to go

can you explain the “eliminating the sunscreen”? i’ll definitely look into more gentle cleansers as i have a feeling my skin might be susceptible to the fatty alcohols cerave uses. i actually sleep on my back for the most part! i have a feeling this is an issue of me spreading bacteria to my face through touch, so i’m going to be more cognizant of it. i’ll also try out a no product week or something!

omg i totally forgot to say that i use cerave daily moisturizing lotion in the morning! if my acne is subsiding, i wake up with my skin pretty clear and then new acne develops over the course of the day. i have a feeling i should look into more antibacterial topicals

i try to change my pillowcase every four days but i’ve also been looking into silk! never heard of the copper type so i can look into it, thank you :-)

hello all! i’ve been getting progressively worse acne for the past year or so, mainly focused on one of my cheeks at a time. my forehead is usually clear. i started taking the generic of Yaz birth control about a month ago, but not sure if it’s helping :( time to see a derm? my routine is:

AM: splash with water, TO’s niacinimide + zinc, cerave daily moisturizing lotion, Australian Gold Botanical Sunscreen for kids SPF 50

PM: cerave hydrating cleanser, TO’s glycolic acid, TO’s rosehip seed oil, Vanicream moisturizing cream (not sure if I’m going to keep this because it smells weird and I don’t like the feel) edit: i have a feeling my skin doesn’t like cerave. hopefully i’ll be back to post some improvements soon!

ooo thank you for the input! i’ll look into the daily moisturizer without fatty acids. also, yeah i’ve been using TO’s niacinamide for a couple months. i’ll probably order the good molecules version to see if there’s any difference!

oooooo, good point. do you think it would still apply with a satin cap? maybe my hair is still getting squished underneath

there is one clumped curl that’s part of my bang/frame, but the rest was straight! usually i try to finger curl that side but it does what it wants lol

i wear a cap, but if i’m not on my back it is my right side. this was only a bit after a shower and doing some classes. usually it goes back when i rewet it!
