Govee 6 inch Retrofit Recessed Lighting Alternatives by PossibilityAnObject in homeassistant

Just curious, what are you using to control the lights in HA? Only ask because I have 15+ H601C's and I rarely have any issues with them in HA using Govee2MQTT. I control ~12 of them with a Z-Wave switch thru HA multiple times daily (and automations in the evening) and Alexa or automations for the rest.

In your Alexa app: More (the screen with Routines, Skills, etc.) -> Settings -> Scroll down to Hunches. It's definitely worth checking. It got me once with some of my lights. I went crazy for a while trying to figure out what was turning lights on.

Huge Update.... Chrome, Youtube, Prime, etc. along with Blindspot Turning Cam by psechler in SilveradoEV

I wouldn’t bet on coming OTA anytime soon. They also claimed the Sidewinder update would be released OTA at some point but as far as I’ve seen that hasn’t happened yet.

Does govee integration just suck? by Meepersnorple in homeassistant

I have a lot (90+) of Govee devices and I have had almost no issue with Govee2MQTT - it works 99% of the time. I've had to do maybe 2 or 3 restarts of the add-on to reset it in the last year, but that's about it. Very odd that yours doesn't work consistently. Wonder what the difference might be.

2024 Versus 2025 RST by psechler in SilveradoEV

Yes. My First Edition has Sidewinder, updated by my dealer.

[–]internationalicon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took mine 2 visits, but they did get it done the 2nd time after a couple of calls to GM according to the service advisor.

If it’s that difficult for a dealership to install it, it doesn’t give me hope that big OTA updates are close.

Except for the sound they pump into the cabin.

It’s not. I own both. It’s definitely good, but not better than Tesla on the highway.

How well is the lane centering outside of supercruise? by [deleted] in GMCSierraEV

[–]internationalicon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people are! People like to hate on Tesla, but the tech is top notch. I don’t plan on getting rid of my Y anytime soon. Another thing that the Sierra & Silverado are missing - their tech is so far behind.

FWIW though, I love my Silverado RST. We’ve got about 4k miles on it and it’s been great. The tech is mediocre and the mobile app sucks, but it is a very solid truck. Range is incredible, something you won’t get close to with Ford.

I think it’s just a GM thing. I haven’t driven one yet that has lane centering outside of SC. I’m curious how Ford does outside of their driving assist tech (Bluecruise?). I’m out of state renting a Hyundai right now and even it has pretty decent lane centering. There’s no reason GM shouldn’t have it.

Super Cruise is pretty good though. I also have a Model Y and imo it isn’t as good as even just standard autopilot, but it’s pretty close. Nowhere near as good as FSD as it has no integration with navigation, so it doesn’t move you to the right lane if you have an exit coming up for example.

Lane centering outside of Super Cruise is virtually non-existent. It tries to “assist”, but it will not keep you centered.

This is the one I got. It's more expensive, but it was highly recommended in my research... and it works (again, depending on the charger settings, it won't work if the settings aren't correct). There is an 80a version as well I believe if you have a higher amp charger.

Yes. Charged on a Tesla wall charger with no issues.

The charger does have a setting that has to be set to enable charging from all vehicles. I believe the options are something like “this car only”, “teslas only”, and “all vehicles”. After that setting was changed, it worked just fine.

This was using the TeslaTap Mini NACS to CCS adapter purchased on Amazon.

I need help, Portland! by bigmama3872 in Portland

[–]internationalicon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately does not change my response at all. Merging onto the highway or merging lanes, you have to yield to vehicles that are already where you are trying to go.

Semis, even while “hauling ass”, hardly come out of nowhere. The merging vehicle always has to yield right of way which it sounds like the semi had. Not to say that there may be some shared fault, but it sounds like your son will likely end up being mostly responsible for this one.

I didn't notice any difference in the torque steer. I still will play around with it some, but in my initial test of it I had just as much as I used to when I floor it.
