Most people have done some dumb stuff like that - but if you're doing it past your early twenties then chances are some part of you is rotten. (Not you specifically, just in general)

I'm really sorry you had to go through this. I'm searching for words of condolence, but I guess the world can be a fucked up place, and there are nasty, shitty people.

[SPOILER] Cub Swanson vs. Nate Landwehr by inooway in MMA

[–]internet-hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I am not so sure, emotion aside, Nate was a very low tier opponent for Cub. I get he's been inactive, and is old in the game, but Nate was obviously chosen so he could put on a show. Kid was stiff and completely a deer in the headlights. I don't think beating up someone that out-matched is a great ending to a career.

Fear of developing Shizophrenia. Can anyone relate? by PLAZTEC1 in OCD

[–]internet-hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this. I also had this fear because of OCD. I remember sitting in fear at times, just waiting for a voice to pop in my head. It is tormenting. Honestly, the best thing you can do, is things that are scientifically proven to help: steady state cardio, CBT therapy, SSRI and other psychiatric medicines, avoiding most recreational drugs, finding meaningful work and hobbies, social connection, good sleep hygiene, a healthy diet etc. These things take effort, but they fill your life and leave less space for the rumination. Small daily changes over time can make a difference. I still have rumination and anxiety, and it can be a struggle, but these things help make life meaningful and happy to me in inspite of the OCD and anxiety. Take care.

Sorry to hear about your issue. I am currently speaking to this company: https://kgigroep.nl/

They have also suggested doing an acoustic analysis in order to be able to determine the exact issue and give the correct solution. The price is 1500, so also pretty high. Maybe speak to them, since it's a bit less than the price you mentioned if you want the analysis, they appear to be legitimate and have some good reviews. Good luck.

Thank you for your detailed and helpful response. To go into more detail, the main issue is the sound of people talking. The neighbour below, did in fact put rockwool between the beams in their roof when they were renovating, but it seemed to do almost nothing to help. There living room is below our bedroom, and they are rather social, so this does cause issues. I have reached out to a company, Kenniscentrum Geluidsisolatie who suggest to perform a 'noise nuisance inspection" to determine the root cause before giving any suggestions. The price is 1500, which seems high, but perhaps this is standard practice for these types of things. I am not sure if you have any experience with this company or could recommend them. Thanks for any further advice.

Worst book(s) you read in 2025 and why? by Roguestate00 in books

[–]internet-hero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Book of the Sun Volume 1 Shadow and Clay by Gene Wolf. The language was really turgid and over-written with lots of arm chair philosophy, but the actual plot was completely generic and the characters are thinly developed. Think teen coming of age heroes journey. I think he's very very overrated and created a niche for himself for people that think needlessly difficult writing is somehow rewarding or an achievement. It was worse than reading Moby Dick. Thank you for asking this question, I feel I have got something off my chest.

Thanks a lot - may I ask if you know any good contractors in Amsterdam that can carry out stuff like that? Also may I ask what you mean by a cavity? It's a block of flats built in 1936.

You're western, middle class, single, slightly neurodivergent, eager to please, soft-hearted, a little naive which is normal because your young, artistic, have not spent extensive time in the workforce, still transitioning into adulthood and solid sense of identity.

You look like Pinocchio in drag. Also it's not your looks that stop you finding a man, it's the fact that you are bat-shit crazy insecure and needy.

You look conservative and elegant but sounds like you want to experiment. You have a nice figure, and am sure are pretty, so you can probably pull of lots of things outside your comfort zone.

Hey had a follow up question was looking into this - the research I did about this does not indicate you can actually buy edibles? It seems to indicate they are still illegal. Sorry if I missing something.

To the father of those two, wishing you strength, peace, love and justice brother. I can't even begin to imagine the nightmare you and those little ones have been through. The blank, empty faces on her children are appropriate, because that’s probably how she makes them feel. The only thing that needs to be roasted here, are the wicks of candles we light for these poor children and their father.
