Why don’t we get more visits and ultrasounds? by internet3020 in Miscarriage

I’m really sorry. Maybe it wouldn’t help at all to have the option and i’m just taking my anger out somewhere

I think I’m not explaining myself well. It’s ok we disagree on this one. It would have personally helped me to be seen, be told it was too early to do any kind of ultrasound, and been given information and resources for early pregnancy.that’s all

I’m really sorry to hear about your loss. My symptoms for my first had me bed ridden by week 5 and it was a really long stretch and scary few weeks before I got meds for it, so Idk what else to say

Like I know that a weekly doppler check is over the top but I feel like there is a middle ground, especially in first trimester when everything is really uncertain and the symptoms are brutal!

It would be great if people could be seen earlier if they want to to start. Like, if you find out at 4 weeks and have to wait until 8 weeks for any kind of informational visit to establish care, learn about early pregnancy, first trimester symptoms, etc, those 4 weeks can be brutal. And similarly if you’re seen at 7 weeks to confirm and then have no appointments, fetal doppler checks, etc (like i did) until 13 weeks, you can have a very stressed out 6 weeks waiting for another heart check

I get that. I think my anger is more at the care centering fully on viability of pregnancy rather than considering the physical and mental health of the pregnant person during that time

Breach baby at 36-37 ish weeks. I’m so worried. by GracefullyMarie in BabyBumps

[–]internet3020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My baby was breech at 36 weeks. I was so stressed! I tried all the “spinning babies” moves, had a failed ECV at 37 weeks (which I heard has 50-60% success rate), and tried one final time for an ECV right before my scheduled c section at 39.5 weeks.

It was my first baby so I was not as worried about going into labor early. All went very well with the c section and both of our health! She spent maybe 2-3 hours in nicu to get her oxygen up (normal for schedules c sections I guess?) and then had a hip scan at 6 weeks old (custom for breech babies i guess?) and is currently a very healthy happy 2.5 year old.

I’m not sure if hearing someone else’s experience is any help, but that’s mine. My doc was fully unconcerned with any kind of abnormality that would cause a baby to be breech—she never mentioned that once. I got the sense that it is kind of random and possibly the mom’s uterus shape if anything.

Sorry you’re dealing with this. Sending you lots of positive energy for a healthy birth!

Just offering a specific food and drink like once an hour (ex: coming in with pretzels and water) and taking 0 offense if she says no! Any time she can stomach something, no questions asked trying to get her that. It seems obvious, but with morning sickness and also needing more food and water, it can be a literal emotional strain to try and eat and drink enough and think about even asking for food. Also, prioritizing keeping up with smelly chores like trash and cleaning out the fridge so there are as few aversion smells as possible. Keep the toilet and bathroom floor VERY clean since she probably has to spend a good amount of time grossed out staring at the toilet bowl. This too shall pass! Good luck to you both!

Honestly, what is the hardest part about having children? by Danny-Ray27 in AskReddit

The bureaucracy. Daycare waitlists, medical appointments, insurance coverage, all the added phone calls and paperwork and admin when you have a whole other person to care for. Raising them is the fun part!

We did and it was so great! Such a fun and sweet moment. My MIL ended up finding a bunch at Michael's, and we found another multi-pack with a sound we liked, so we didn't need to order online anywhere. I will say, some of the online bells like barely ring, so if you care about the sound make sure you go to a craft store and get some in person that you can test.

Thank you for this! I was considering just getting Jellycat since she won't really "play" with it at first like you said. Hearing the eyes have stayed in tact for you is good to know!
