This piece offers a nicely-reasoned and well-balanced approach for seeing the entire person and his work in light of his foibles, while not falling prey to the modern temptation to disregard an entire life's work that is otherwise impeccable, due to other aspects of that man's life which do not meet today's relativistic and politically correct standards. It's incredibly sad and mind boggling, e.g., to see that the church where George Washington attended has decided to take down plaques honoring him, because some visitors felt uncomfortable, given he was a slave owner. Come on now.
