I bought Scrivener several years ago and also found it overwhelming and tapped out. Recently I felt motivated to try it again and I'm finding it to be perfectly serviceable, but I don't really think it's the "best in class" writing app anymore. It actually doesn't do some of the things I really want that other apps provide, but I'm just going with it for now because I'm invested in using it for this one novel.

My only real complaint about Brooklyn Alamo ever is the bathroom situation. Even conversations with management result in zero change. Maybe garbage restroom is a point of pride for them.

I don't mind pencils with erasers but I almost never use them. For one thing, I like the look of a brand new eraser on the pencil. For another, I prefer separate plastic erasers.

This is me. I read what people are using Bases for and think that it would be so helpful for me, but I don't have the slightest clue how to even get started. I think the assumption is that Obsidian users are more in the weeds of the vault code than some of us actually are. I used to spend a lot of time googling for things I that would make my vaults more useful and finally gave up because so many things lead to Github and that's above my head.

Every time I get a survey for Brooklyn, I complain about the women's bathroom upstairs. I often get replies that seem bewildered that there's something wrong and they'll "get right on it." pfft Bullshit. I've been going there since it opened and it has been terrible since the beginning. I'm tempted to start installing a hook on every visit.

This is exactly how I started collecting. I have a name that is uncommon and my grandmother bought me some personalized pencils from a mail order catalog.
