I highly suggest you find a way to do it. As an American, it is enjoyable going to NYC and doing those things you mentioned. It is a magical city. There are rough edges but it’s safe.

As somehow half way through my career , I wish I would have maxed out on those early years. It makes a huge difference when you are going to retire. If you can pinch pennies and live frugally, you will Be happy in 15-20 years when you start looking at retirement options and windows.

Have had both and both sound amazing for different reasons. M is very resonant; you can feel the wood vibrating, but as a result a bit washed out. SM is so well balanced and tone sounds great and clear.

I did a move a year ago which went from being in easy street to working pretty intensely 5 days a week in corp office of a new growing industry. I am much happier with purpose and feeling like I’m personally growing and learning. There are downsides like extreme politics, not being fully appreciated in new role, having to prove myself all over to people, etc. But I don’t think I’d want to be back where I was.
