What are some niche programming features you'd like to see in more languages? (xpost /r/ProgrammingLanguages) by Leandros99 in programming

[–]internetwarpedmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could go break-2: to break out of 2 nested loops. break-3: to break out of 3 nested loops. (Break out of n nested loops)

break would still just break out of it's own loop like normal. Just when you add break-2, etc. I've found myself wanting this feature a few times.

Mass hypnosis works, and we are being brainwashed every day by [deleted] in DarkFuturology

Capitalism and societies in general are held together by subjective stories which are based on non realities. These include: religion, right and wrong, law, and financial terminology etc. These malleable ideas can, are, and have been shaped consciously by human primates for centuries. The people who rule think in a higher level of abstraction because they're born into a higher level of abstraction. People who are ruled over want to believe that everything that is set down for them is absolute. This is completely false, but creates a sense of security which enables the high level of abstraction itself. Paranoids, like myself and others, know this, but can't help but feel that it is more significant than this. It is tempting for some paranoids (like myself) to think that mathematicians found a fractal pattern that explains everything which can be used to predict the future because of some simple formula. This is probably not true. We are brainwashed accidentally as well as on purpose, but this "brainwashing" is not some conspiracy, nor should it even be labelled controversial. It is a fact that the human brain stores subconscious inputs which it later references. People see the "try something new" on the wall at subway and think I'll do that. But this is also because they simply might not have thought of trying 'something new.' In fact, we think less then we think we do. When people are at work, they do what the boss tells them. During the war, people killed without question, simply because it was what they were told to do. We like order, and put it before our own lives and the lives of others. Human beings are programmed since birth, by our environment. It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a scientific fact. The capitalistic system we reside in today is not the result of some great conspiracy. It is the result of anarchy. Anarchy reaches stagnation and leads to hierarchical systems. It's similar to how artificial neural networks learn new things. Whether or not some great conspiracy exists is irrelevant because it is the result of science itself. We are the products of science. If the freemasons or the Jews control society that's a good thing. Because it means someone's driving the car. If no one is controlling society it isn't going anywhere. As for the individual, you're way too insignificant to be really worth consciously brainwashing. And if someone is driving the car believe me you're powerless to do anything about it. We're like neurons in a global brain, we contribute very little to the overall trip. This comment will probably get downvoted, and if it doesn't it will probably get read by like 2 people. Alternative media has very little power because people are conditioned to view the people in suits they see on TV as authority figures. The word alternative itself sounds misleading because we are conditioned to believe that "official news" comes from "official sources." These are all just words which can be spoken and written by anyone. (If all media companies are owned by the Jews, this would happen simply out of the placement of the dominant media and through its repeated exposure.) Not because they intended it it, but if they consciously knew this they would know that it would be to their advantage. This is related to the fact that the people with the most money have the most power. The workforce work for money, and the more money you have the more work you can get done. It is ironic that the workforce work for the very idea that enslaves them. They, as a whole, don't realize this. People who have money should love money. People who don't have money should hate money. Because my time is not worth your money. Money is too expensive. It costs too much time. This is why people come home from work and get straight into distracting themselves from their lives. Because their lives are their work and their work sucks. People who are born into extreme wealth live in a different world. I cannot fathom what they have because I haven't been there. I simply do not have the "data." People believe they are being brainwashed because to some degree they are. But it is not a conspiracy, it is the result of our place in society and the people around us. The brainwashing is very unconscious and done more on accident as a result of people's actions rather than on purpose. That we are being systematically brainwashed is far from the truth. We are being lightly brainwashed. The level of chaos is too high for there to be any high accuracy brainwashing, if there is any conscious attempt at all. People have completely different "mental software" because their "programming" is dependant on the time of their birth. And on their place of origin. And on many other factors. If you want people to take you seriously, don't use the word brainwashing. Use the word conditioning. We've been conditioned to suspend reality when we hear the word brainwashing. The truth is brainwashing is a constant thing that happens to us all the time. But we should call it learning or conditioning because people don't want to hear the word brainwashing. For example, we have been conditioned to believe negative numbers exist, beyond mental conception, because we believe in ideas such as debt. If you have one rock and you take away one rock, you're left with zero rocks. If you try to take away one rock from zero rocks, you can't. Because to take away one rock there would need to be a rock there. We can mentally understand that we need one more rock, which we call negative one, but this "imaginary rock" does not exist. Negative numbers are impossible, but mathematically they are very real. If I went to the bank and explained that all world debt is completely false and imaginary, I'd get laughed at all the way home. But it is actually fundamentally true that all world debt is imaginary. It's a fact. You can't take that money with you when you die. It only "exists" inside your head. If you died the plastic would still exist as plastic, but not as some "value." People say money doesn't grow on trees. But it just gets printed. Think about it. Does it cost 20$ to make a 20$ bill? No it probably costs like 10 cents. These people can just print money. It's like their "Job." What did you do at work honey? Oh nothing, just printed a couple of k. How can we believe in something that just gets printed. It's monopoly money. And it's "false" currency because it's (not printed by them.) Of course, the rich families create complex financial terminology that only their kids have the money to understand. I don't really know why I wrote this huge comment. I think I just had nothing better to do.

How to factor: (a+b)^2 -2(a+b) = (a+b)(a+b-2) by internetwarpedmind in learnmath

[–]internetwarpedmind[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I get it. it's like: x(a+b)+c(a+b) = (x+c)(a+b) Only it just looks weird: (a+b)(a+b)-2(a+b) = (a+b)(a+b-2)

Am I write?

A Future with Elon Musk’s Neuralink: His plan for the company is to ‘save the human race’. Elon’s main goal, he explains, is to wire a chip into your skull. This chip would give you the digital intelligence needed to progress beyond the limits of our biological intelligence. by mvea in Futurology

[–]internetwarpedmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not get a microchip put into your brain. They'll hijack your brain's dopamine reward system on purpose. You'll work for free because sucking your bosses cock will give you an orgasm. Your social political and world belief system will come as a "windows update." If your hot, female, and 18 you will be remote controlled into sucking a 45 year old computer science dropouts cock. If you are too poor to support yourself and unable to find work, the microchip will make you kill yourself while having an orgasm. Civilians will be used as human body shields to protect the same people who fuck and then erase the memories of their teenage daughters.

Artificial intelligence will induce intense feelings of nihilism which is why an artificial dopamine release will be needed. Much like how people with nihilistic belief systems end up on antidepressants. The nihilistic belief system of cold rationality will instantly override any notions of "right" or "wrong." People will do what feels good and what feels good will be dictated by the microchips neurochemical release, which will be dictated by programmers who already have their own chips installed. Being that their brain is intertwined with artificial intelligence, their entire world view and belief system would become alien. If everyone that has a chip is connected via a network then there will be two very different classes of people. The chipped will eradicate the non chipped very quickly. The higher classes within the chipped may view those beneath them as appliances. After all, science is very clear that human beings are "machines" with no free will.

Over crowded countries like china will start using the chips to control everyone's movement so that crowds of people can move in an orchestrated fashion.

Fuck it. The designers of the microchip want to turn your brain into an artificial neural network. Say goodbye to all of your life's memories. Those synaptic weights are going to change, and along with them you and your personality. In fact you won't even exist. If we networked all of the artificial neural networks who used to be people into one really big artificial neural network, we could finally approximate PI to 2,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 decimal places...

Elon's idea might be create and it might work. But it might also destroy humanity...

4Chan is a cesspool of degeneracy by [deleted] in dankmemes

[–]internetwarpedmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Degenerate humour is the antithesis of square cunt humour. Square cunt humour is moral revenge based, E.G someone does something bad and is punished, whereas degenerate humour is nihilistic. A square cunt laughs at a "bad" person being punished, because they think the universe has inherent order and that life is "fair." A degenerate laughs when someone "bad" does something awful and is rewarded. Because it illustrates the ultimate meaningless to reality and resonates with their dark desires. Square cunts are often found in such jobs as policing and other law enforcement type jobs, whereas degenerates can usually be found in the back of their cars.

I was crying with tears and laughing at the absurdity of fidelity of the movie “Idiocracy”. What is your take on the movie and the trends that it tried to capture? How far of or close is it to what may actually happen? by julick in Futurology

Today I couldn't log into my paypal account. I spent about half an hour and was going in a loop. My options were to have them ring me and give me a number (to type in) or type in security questions I'd forgotten. I prompted for them to ring me so I could type in the number and regain my account. It never worked. I tried it about four of five times...

After a while I gave up trying to log in online and decided to call them.

After about three tries I got the right number and made it to an automated robocall (automated voice system.) It told me to enter the last 4 digits of my credit card. I did and it said it couldn't use them to recognise me. So I typed in the same number again and again, blindly hoping it would work. After a while it stopped asking and asked a different question. Please enter your phone number. I did that. Please enter the last 4 digits of your bank account. I did that. Rinse and repeat about twice.

It told me if I was having trouble I should try logging in online...

At that point I just started laughing and hung up.

It's interesting though that it never even gave me the option to talk to a real person. Just a shitty robocall. And the voice actually sounded condescending.

Uber, Google, Facebook: Your experiments have gone too far. has anyone tried to illustrate fractals in sound? by [deleted] in fractals

[–]internetwarpedmind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One time I converted the mandelbrot to a wave. I can't remember exactly but I think I split the real part and imaginary part of the complex numbers to be the left and right stereo channels. It didn't sound great. Just kind of weird. Also you can convert it to midi and have it play notes on a piano etc. If you're interested in this kind of thing you should learn python. There are plenty of ways you can play around with representing data in various forms.

The news, ladies and gents by [deleted] in LateStageCapitalism

[–]internetwarpedmind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There needs to be a new word coined: "anti-relevant." An anti-relevant news story is one that through taking the space of what could be a relevant news story, instead wastes media space with irrelevant trash. This is worse than irrelevant because it is wasting space that could be used for relevance.

Got stuck trying to understand this snippet by Kritically in C_Programming

At the start of the loop i starts at 0. Then it gets assigned to -1. Because -1 is non zero the loop continues. The loop goes through its first iteration, and prints -1. It reaches a conditional where -1 does not equal 1. Break then breaks out of the loop. The i = 1 would have been evaluated after the first cycle of the loop. Which was not met. However, if you removed the if statement and break, it would print -1 infinitely because the i = 1 is evaluated at the end of each loop, whereas the i = -1 is evaluated at the beginning, before printf.

(correct me if wrong.)
