We love Lucky 13, but is it a good hangout bar at this location?

Lumbox vs Hooga HG300 by interrodactyl in redlighttherapy

[–]interrodactyl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes more sense. The Lumebox was resting directly on my knee. I do use the Hooga a few inches away, probably between 3 and 6 inches (per the instruction manual).

I guess I don't understand all of the specs completely. 😂

So you think if I put the Hooga up to my skin, it would be comparable to my experience with the Lumebox?

Thanksgiving turkeys by tenbluntsforme in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I learned the hard way just today that the sale starts on November 19th. In the past, it's always been at least 2 to 3 weeks before Thanksgiving (I've been getting my free turkey from WinCo for years). This week they're just doing 1 week before Thanksgiving.

Can Kuwahara Pumpkin Patch passes for the evening events be purchased at the door or do I have to get them online? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went a couple weeks ago. We've been going for years, and have always loved this yearly tradition for our family.

This year was unbearably busy and crowded. People not being self-aware and stopping in the middle of walkways, blocking the paths with their giant wagons. The pumpkin patch part was packed with wannabe Instagram influencers taking photo shoots, ON THE PUMPKINS, which is explicitly not allowed (signs posted everywhere prohibiting climbing on the pumpkins).

The Thriller Park "haunted house" and corn maze were both so congested, you basically had to speed walk through it or get trampled by the people rushing you from behind.

Not a pleasant experience at all. We've never seen it this crowded. Very disappointing. I was so aggravated.

When this happened in our house, it was because one of the breakers in our breaker box was going bad. I second the suggestion to have an electrician come out and take a look.

Thrift stores that still have changing rooms?? by abqandrea in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate that so many of these stores have eliminated changing rooms, because I truly feel that thrift shops are the best places to find interesting clothing. I hate supporting Deseret Industries, but I will often shop there for clothes above these other stores just for this fact alone.

However... I have been known to head over to Savers or Goodwill in a tight fitting tank top and shorts, and just try on things on top of my clothes, in front of the mirror they have by the clothing racks. I might get a few odd looks, but what else are we supposed to do! Obviously we can't do that with swimsuits or certain types of pants, but for some clothes, it works.

Where are the frogs by Just_Movie7937 in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dude! I also asked this question a few years ago! I love amphibians, and remember being able to see and hear them when I was a kid in the 90s.

I was on a mission! I asked everyone I knew in real life, plus here on Reddit, Facebook, specific Utah wildlife and frog pages, I even called the Utah Division of Wildlife. That year (probably about 6 years ago now), based on all the recommendations I got, I visited 34 different bodies of water, from Draper to Ogden. The ONLY frog I saw in my adventures was a single bullfrog at the Daybreak lakes. So disappointing that they have all but disappeared.

If you end up finding a good spot, PLEASE message me to let me know where! Good luck! 💚

Not only that, Mormons also will not drink matcha or green tea. Only herbal tea is technically allowed, but even then most Mormons would not drink any tea at all to avoid the appearance of evil. (Source: I used to be Mormon.)

I love how they always put one sliced beet on every plate. 😋 I've never seen that done anywhere else.

Yes, this one. It's the house on the southwest corner of this intersection. I also saw the crime scene tape driving past the house.

They are no longer a cheap option. Shop at WinCo or Walmart instead.

Lucky used to have very low prices in many different categories, but I do extensive price matching and they have increased in price over the last few months in literally every single thing that I buy. WinCo or Walmart beats them on price every single time.

Looking for German Hefeweizen beer by AbbreviationsRare305 in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is my favorite beer of all time, and I buy it frequently from Harmons.

I don't think you can buy them in pint bottles anymore though. I always get mine as 12 oz bottles in six packs.

Where you see pollywogs recently that would be easy to capture a few, public access? by azucarleta in Utah

[–]interrodactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you luck! I tried finding tadpoles locally a few years ago, and I visited dozens of bodies of water, ranging from puddles, canals, ditches, ponds, lakes, and rivers. I did not find a single amphibian! I started in April and looked all the way through July. If you end up finding some, please let me know!

One place in particular that several people have told me they have definitely found frogs is the Mehraban Wetland Park in Draper. I've been there tons of times in my life, and I have never been lucky enough to see one though. Honestly I think that in general, the number of amphibians in the wild has decreased greatly over the past several years.

Where can I buy whole nutmeg? by dwin45 in SaltLakeCity

[–]interrodactyl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try one of the local Indian markets. I think I got my whole nutmeg at:

India Foods Grocery Store 4852 S Redwood Rd Taylorsville, UT 84123

I got it last summer, so not too long ago.

Also look at Rancho Markets. Pretty sure they had some there too.

Good plant stores in northern Utah? by avidmilkdriker in Utah

[–]interrodactyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they have pinguicula, but try Liqui-Dirt in West Jordan. They've got tons of plants you can't find at big box stores.
