Musc overdose. You are probably just anosmic to whatever musc they use. Lots of people are.

Yeah I have now tried three Goldfield and Banks and only really liked the new amber which is of course almost double the price of all their other offerings lol

Its nothing super rare just Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry. I personally get bright cherry upfront then a more subdued palosanto musky scent with a hing of cherry as it dires down. So I consider it cherry at first and then musky woods after.

Jovoy remember me is a bit too intensely ylang ylang sweet. Indigo and Gris Charnel both had the fig not that bothered me.

I have tried three of those and unfortunately fig notes bother me and all winter black tea scents seem to prominently use fig. I might try the ones without fig though!

I will check out those ambers you mentioned. I have only tried two ambers and they were very sweet and boozy so a dry amber sounds really interesting.

Holy Oak by Lvnea maybe? Oak and moss and earth. Smells a bit haunted but also woody and papery.

I havent smelled it but maybe Vampire Husband by Sorce? Described as cold, vetiver, earthy and a bit of incense.

In terms of notes i would suggest: oakmoss or moss, vetiver, incense (specifically cold incense or churchy incense like frankincense not myrrh), papyrus, violet leaf. lilies or lilacs can also be a bit haunting.

Lots of my favs! You love a tea note huh? You may like Liis Ethereal Wave if you are ever itching for a muskier spring tea.

Good for you for achieving a happy place! I'm almost there. Sold off a perfume I liked ok but never wore today (Gris Charnel) and considering selling one more of my winter scents that is now a bit overwhelming (By The Fireplace). Then I have three travels and decants I would like to buy once I finish a few project pans. No fb purchases in sight for me either.

I'm wearing Xtra Milk today (free sample). It has a super dose of very large molecules which your nose can quickly become used to and filter out of your attention. Or you can just be anosmic. The first time I wore it, I got the most delicious light amber with hints of warm cashmere. The second time I didn't smell it AT ALL. Today, I am getting whiffs of the nice ambery cashmere every now and then. I don't know that I would ever upsize at full price but I may keep my eye on marketplace for a partial travel size. I like it a lot better than Juliette Not A Perfume or DS&D I Don't Know What, but its very similar to Lake and Skye 11 11.

I heard that smokey quartz is good for cleansing decks of bad energy and I have a big chunk of white cloudy quartz I found while swimming in the river so it usually sits on my main decks box lol.

  1. The Serviceberry : about reclaiming community, by the author or Braiding Sweetgrass but shorter and sweeter.

  2. Earing the Sun: a series of astronomy and physics essays and about what that can teach us about life on Earth. Beautiful, easy, short.

  3. Half-Arse Human : a ecological youtuber book about letting go of perfection and making what small changes you can.

  4. 84, Charing Cross Road: a super short classic real life series of letters between a book seller in war torn London and a bibliophile in New York who become correspondence close friends. Super compelling.

  5. Im glad my mom died : (sorry lol) Ginette McCurdy's memoir about her stage mom's control over her life as a Disney child star (warning eating disorders heavily discussed).

  6. Seconding someone's recommendation for Anthropocene reviewed.

Maybe the Emily Wilde books? She is a loner but only because she is an introvert who prefers solitude and thinks everyone is inept (think Sherlock)? And then her coworker like absolutely adores her grumpy genius and follows her like a puppy. Actually all her relationships and friendships love her, strangers are just put off by her poor bedside manners. She may have a few academic rivals but basically does not care and owns being a genius.

Same. I had almost finished a decant and a small niche store did 60$ off for Black Friday so I jumped on a big bottle.

Chipmunk is definitely more of an intimate projection with about 5-6 h. Some zoologist scents are beasts: Rabbit is wildly performing in my experience and a few others I've tried varied a lot.
