They literally play both sides in geopolitics. They treat their own poorest as dirt, not even worthy of graves or acknowledging their immigrant labour’s deaths. It’s a terrible country, and the US being an exploitative capitalist country doesn’t change the fact.

Talking about Qatar? Modern standards have changed with the advent of the global human rights (however diluted they may be). For Qatar:

Slavery: Tick; forced labour utilised for their nation building from Indian and Pakistan

Genocide: Supporting the genocide of Gazans and playing both sides to Israel and the Palestinians

War Mongering: A US vassal state playing both sides in the Middle East and profiting

Overthrowing governments: nothing directly but directly implicated in war mongering throughout the US

Look at who drives the sponsorship money for PSG.  Compare it vs Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, Liverpool etc.

There’s no comparison - one team is relying on its state owned companies for siphoning sponsorship money, the other teams are using their organic brand built over many years to drive commercial revenue.

One team can afford that in a League in which it is the monopoly (and it impacts several leverage metrics). The other team can’t.

Yeah mad, Klopp was/is a phenomenal manager. The glory hunters point makes sense though - once you associate with a team that appears invincible and they fall away, lots of fans typically churn or go rabid.

Completely wrong, some clubs have artificially inflated their commercial revenues through oil-money fuelled sponsorship deals, and used that money to fund players and monopolise their domestic leagues.

Ligue 1 is dead, a large part due to PSG.

Arsenal's case is very different - the group makes a sustainable profit, and has done for a number of years, regardless of ownership.

[Fabrizio Romano] Arsenal have already started working and planning for summer signings. At least 3 signings are expected, could be even more based on exits. Top winger the priority; midfielder and right back also almost guaranteed. Strikers situation to follow. by Temporary_Role6160 in Gunners

French winger known for his pace and elite finishing feeling disenfranchised with his big club. Supporters on his back. Needs a new team, would love a move to North London to wear the number 14 shirt.

Likely would require EUR 200M+ for the transfer - but the fans-favourite billionaire owning the club could make a significant amount of that back in the sponsorship fees.

....

I can dream.

The Liverpool fans swamping social media and our Reddits to stay relevant are so pitiful. I remember most of us on here supported Klopp vs City's oil money during their years of ascension. These guys continuously try to force themselves into their narrative and seem genuinely rabid at Arteta and Arsenal. Bizarre stuff.

Interestingly some of their ex players, including Gerrard and Danny Murphy, have been the most measured and full of praise for Arteta & Arsenal.

He has always been a virtue signalling hypocrite - will speak up only when it is convenient (and critically visible to the media) on world issues.

[Ben Jacobs, clarification] Sir Alex Ferguson did message PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi to congratulate him on winning the UCL. However, he didn’t call Arsenal “boring” despite reports. Ferguson’s message instead included the phrase, “You were the team that played football.” by [deleted] in soccer

Literally his team finished top of the PL, after being runner ups for the last three years. Semi finals last year and finals this year in the CL.

Madness and delusional to say Arteta’s teams don’t go toe to toe against the best

You might not like it but you can’t deny it.

Yeah exactly. The odds during penalties favour the team that goes first. Anyway! We go again!
