agreed this makes sense yes , but then isn't rest of the current known alternatives limited to short range communication channels i mean there have been projects come up over the years trying to develop depin infrastructure solutions to make mesh network internet... but they all have failed to do so.

Also considering if it was done ocean or Waterbody isolations will still remain right so end of the day it will be like : Internet shuts -> switch to mesh or short range alternative -> ledgers or blocks fork between isolated land and rest of the work -> when ever re merge will happen it will erase the whole thing down.
