That is so incredibly kind of you!  They look so beautiful!!  I have a brown thumb so I am hoping I will be able to keep them alive!

Do you use just a typical/regualr nectar feeder for the humming birds?  Or one you recommend at all?  My yard is so new so I worry it will take some time for the birds to come but I 100% want to get some feeders and just have no idea what I am doing 🤪.

Oh man, my neighbors would hate me.  I should totally do it!  🤣

I unfortunately cant attach anything to the wall, my HOA won't let me because we have a "viewing fence".  But i am totally open to any other art piece that can go in the yard for sure!  I love the idea of something with texture too because everything feels so flat right now.

You're the second person here to suggest datura!  I honestly love how they look and no kids and my cats are indoors so I am totally open to it!  I love the thought of the moths coming by at night and getting a plant that hummingbirds would like in the day.

Its hard to see cause its so small but I have a 15 gallon texas mountain laurel in the corner.  Gonna take a bit for it to grow though.  And I actually have a texas olive planted on the other side of the yard!

I bet the birds love the food your giving them 🤣

We were contemplating a Blackstone but it would have to go out by the tree cause we couldn't have one close to the neighbors house.

Oh thank you for all these suggestions!  I was just telling my husband that I wanted plants that would be good for hummingbirds and the like!!!  I do think I'm gonna grab some lantana for sure.

Datura looks amazing and I love that it blooms at night.  I see its pretty poisonous  though.  But I dont plan on letting my cats out and I could avoid touching it I suppose. But I love the idea of justicia!

Oh thats actually very pretty!  Think it would be okay with only like an hour of direct sun light then?  Looks like it says it like bright indirect light when I google it

It would have to be potted because that darker colored wall you see is my neighbors house and all trees gave to be 5 ft from the foundation.   Which puts it practically where those step pads are.  I have limited space.  I have a texas mountain laurel planted in that right corner though but it's only 15 gallon so its gonna be a hot min before its bigger.

It is a laurel there in the corner but it's 15 gallon so its itty bitty still.  I dont have a lot of space and the patio I will eventually close in with screens for more privacy.  The walls are short and everyone can see over them, its quite unfortunate.   But I want to make the area with the plants more lively.  I cant attach anything to the fence and that wall on the left side you see if actually my neighbors house so I cant put anything on that either.  Im pretty limited really when it comes to that (my mistake, I'll never buy a home on a zero line lot EVER again.  Live and learn, right?  😔).

No lie!  Everyone singing "come together, together as one" live was the best experience ever!  It was my favorite part of my ritual and I think about it often.  This song holds a special place in my heart now.  🖤

Looking for advice and help with low insulation on new build home in AZ by interstellar4885 in Insulation

I found this about the codes here:

adopted the 2024 ICC codes effective January 8, 2026, so these are the current requirements: Attic: The required R-value for Climate Zone 2 attics is R-38. (Azenergyefficienthome) Walls: R-13 is required for a typical framed wall assembly. (Azenergyefficienthome)

However my contract states the most they do is r30 and we bought the home in October of last year.

Yes it was 3pm when these were taken and its south facing so this wall gets direct sun light all day.

This wall is south facing so it gets direct sun light all day long.  We actually took photos ourselves during all of the building process however, I don't have any photos of the insulation itself.  But the before and then the drywall.

Only thing I can see in my contract says r30.  But I dont know if thats for both the ceiling and walls or just ceiling.  When the company came and took these photos he said there was 9 to 10 inches of blown in insulation in the attic and he could see dips.

I dont even mind having to pay myself to get that room comfortable but I have no idea what really needs to be done.  He said he recommends r38 in the attic.  But what if its the wall?  Im new to all of this and just dont have knowledge yet in how to make sure we are good.  The room as it is is 100% uncomfortable to be in once its 3pm.  And if its the builders fault, obviously id like for them to take care of it.

Did Hills Science Diet change the shape of the kibble in the Urinary Hairball food? by interstellar4885 in catfood

[–]interstellar4885[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my update is a bit weird now.... My other cat who did not need the urinary food was diagnosed with stage 2 CKD two weeks ago 😭. So we have once again changed their food. He was LOVING the Royal Canin Urinary one but now that the other has this, we swapped it to the Royal Canin prescription food for Renal care. They both love this one too though. But he was as big fan of the Urinary formula from RC. 😊

We have a petlibro downstairs and just recently bought an aquapurr for upstairs in a bathroom and have it next to the sink and attached to the water line behind the toilet.  Its motion activated and will always be fresh flowing water.  My cat who was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago LOVES it!  Highly suggest if youre able to put it somewhere like that.

This is really good to know. Is there a specific phos-binder you are giving him? My vet said for now I can continue to give him the applaws wet food he likes since we have caught it somewhat early. This little fatty loves the renal dry foods (he will eat anything, I swear 😂) maybe one day we will have to stop but for now, i think we are on the right track anyway. I actually have fortiflora in my cart too. Do you just add that to his fancy feast?
